I think it would be good to have more classes and then a final custom class, where you could choose your avatar from any of the existing classes, and then pick any 3 skills trees from any of the other classes. of course this would cause items to them be skill tree specific and not class specific, but that shouldnt be a big deal.
Wouldnt mind gloves/boots being socketable with 1 slot.
Also what about if another type of socketable item, where its somewhat of a set. So if I had one of those in my helm, sword, shield, it gives some sort of bonus. So if I had 3, then 4, then 5, the bonuses would go up.
Wouldnt mind a scroll or something to revive mercenaries, rather than have to go back and revive them.
Id like dual wield available to more classes and special items for dual wield, where they are matching items, along the lines of fire and ice of the same weapon.
A possession spell, where you can take control of an enemy creature and use it for a period of time.
An absorption spell where you could cast it on a create and you would gain its special ability as a spell for a short time and depriving the creature of it. For example, if a creature generates a cold field, you would take his and he would lose it for that time period.
Another thing is make sure you have items for all characters. It bothered me in d2 that there was hardly ever any good items for druids in the stores. They have tons for sorc, paladin, necro, amazon, and even a few items for assassin (but only the specialized weapon) and just about nothing for druids. So the stores needs to carry more stuff for the other classes.
yeh spacebar only removes char pages automap, trade screens, skilltree quests and shit like that

i know it give great customization but i dont think it would work

it sounds cool but again i dont think it would work

dual weild available to more classes is what i said but i meant it so not everybody could dual weild larger weapons (long sword and bigger)

him man be hard to do, most attacks arent that special, cold based attacks most attacks monsters have are just sorc spells or the equivilent of having a weapon socketed with a sapphire. not really sure if the 'loses it' part could be done

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

No those only make those creatures fight for you. I mean direct control where you are that creature for a short period of time. So you could leave your character safely somewhere and either sneak in someplace or use one of their own to start killing the enemy.
that is hard to do, its not like baldur's gate or any game when you can esily select which being you move, the PC, NPC following you, summonables this is diablo you are constantly moving the one character only the rest follow you, you dont even have full control of your merc, so a monster is out of the question.

I dont think so. The creature that you cast it on, or it that the spell "hits" that would now be the PC and your character and your merc would just stay where they are and maybe act defensively if needed. Not undoable at all since you only ever really control 1 character anyway but unlikely.
Probably been said but more control over your mercs like choosing their skill tree or something.
What about also a rare scroll or something that would allow you to modify your skill tree. If you dont like one of your skill trees you can swap it for another and it would take however many skill points you have in that tree and let you redistribute them in your new set of skills (including the other skills you had).

why go to all that trouble ''capturing'' a monster why not just have a char like the druid who can shapeshift into the monsters.

yep, by me

hm if you dont like a tree, then dont put skills points into it, like the rest of us

Then how about where a druid could learn 3 extra shape shifts and we could choose from a list. Or it could do it on the fly with a skill. When that skill is used shoots something and whatever creature it hits you would turn into that.

Yeah well that sux. Why lose out on 1/3 of your powers cause they gave us lame ones to choose from. Alot of the games are going this way, giving us more control. Look at Titan Quest, you get 2 skill trees and you pick which ones. And since everyone says its a diablo clone seems very doable for the real thing.
all the characters would run together... zons with enchant, barbs with holy shield and everything would have bo... insted of zons barbs necros thier would be amazarianermancers

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
Ever read up on the Diablo clone? On the Arreat Summit website, it is said he was brought back from death by a dark ritual by Lilith, so Diablo isn't COMPLETELY erased, nor will he ever be. But anyways:
I'm pretty sure they need an Excorcist character. He could have knowledge in Demon Smiting skills and other various lore.

that what im saying, see now if you had just said that in the first place there wouldnt have been any problems

who uses all the skills of that char, i only use like 10 out of 30 skills well 20, i never use warcrys with the barbar, and he kicks ass. he rocks, kills everybody. so i think you might just have to pick your sacks up off the floor and handle like the rest of us do

1) More Acts! If they can take the time and double the amount of acts and size, this would keep people interested for a loooong time. I understand the work that gets put into creating such maps is very time consuming but, I myself, would happily pay xtra for someones time and effort put into a game like this on a large scale. Would be worth every penny.
2) Create more difficulty levels other than normal, nightmare and hell. adding two more would be sweet, and again, create a much longer playing experience WITH the larger amounts of acts.
3) Add more quests as you get to higher difficulty levels. These quests dont have to do anything with the actual storyline of the game but to more like, build up your character even more as you progress. This would eliminate repetitiveness of the games quests as you go higher by just adding more into the maps. Maybe something like other townsfolks are looking for help of some sort and would give you extra items.
4) Add more different monsters as you get to higher levels. Nothig is more boring than fighting the same dudes that are only at higher levels. This would keep people interested into going further into the game to see and fight everything. Even adding an extra boss once in a while elsewhere would be awesome!!!
5) And of course, like what everyone else says here, more characters, spells, weapons, armour and items. More of these would never hurt
What I hope not to see!!!!!
NO 3D perspective!!!! This is too cheezy imo which is why I dont play any 3D RPG games. I played all sorts of RPG games from Ultima I - VII Black Gate to the Ice Wind Dales. There is nothing like playing an RPG game that leaves alot to the imagination by not showing too much in detail or in your face 3D up close would kill this game. I've seen enemies in WoW that looks like monsters from Monsters Inc the animated movie. TOO CHEEZED! For it to be done right in 3D graphically and with great dark atmosphere it would have to have nice high rez textures and great lighting and shadows beyond the looks of Oblivion and FPS games like Doom3, FEAR and HL2. IMO, todays games engines and computer hardware cannot produce a superb, capable RPG game YET in 3D.
Diablo II LOD is a beutiful, dark and dreary cold world with kick ass 2D perspective. I mean, isnt that why we all loved it!?!?! A Diablo III in the same perspective but with little more detail and higher res would be awesome.............and with the similar musical score;)
This would be my dream diablo:)

they dont let you swap skill tree's for that reason and the game is based on teamwork
It would just be socketable. Im sure we already have diamond studded shoes somewhere in the world now. They arent walking on diamonds.
Not really cause I wouldnt want any of those skill trees and Im sure others wouldnt either.
