I am currently playing on an Xbox 360, planning on upgrading and moving my Witch Doctor to Xbox One. I'm not sure but I think the last patch that went to the 360 was patch 2.0.6. For reference, all my items are from 2.0.6, no legacies. So, I have a few specific Kanai Cube questions. (1) I have an Oculus Ring and Nagelring on my follower. They do not yet have the new unique orange affixes. If I reforge them in the cube, will they gain the orange affixes? (2) Ancient legendaries aren't currently available to me because they were added in a patch I don't yet have. If I reforge my items, will they still have a chance of rolling ancient, considering "ancient" wasn't a possibility when they originally dropped? (3) I have the Helltooth Set with the old set bonuses. Will the set be automatically updated to the new bonuses upon the character transfer and new patch? I appreciate any genuine help. Please don't respond with theories or the ever useful "I don't know but...". Only tested, factual answers that you know are for sure, please. Thanks.
I believe in what I read and understood that anything which was legacy will change to its current affix if placed in the cube. I do not recall anything specific based on console or PC other than the ps3/Xbox 360 not getting patched at all.
- Reforged items will roll act like a new drop. This includes 10% of being ancient (no matter if it was ancient or not), rolling with the stats the items can currently have (like sash of knives used to roll 40% fan of knives damage, reforging will remove that roll but add the legendary power).
- When a set bonus is changed, this change is applied to all compatible pieces of that same set, even when they dropped before. Apart from 1 or 2 items (like the furnace), changes to legendary affixes will only apply to newly dropped items, leaving the old drops unchanged.
So you're saying that I can put an item into the cube that dropped in 2.0.6, was altered in 2.2 or 2.3, and have it come out with the new or adjusted orange affixes and stat ranges? Are you sure of this? Because I've read that someone put in an older Azurewrath and it came out with the same old pathetic orange affix stat range. Also, unclear on the ancient status. Again, all my stuff is from before "ancient" was even added to the game. Can I still reforge it to ancient? Have you or anyone you know actually tested this?
I have read many accounts of people specifically saying that legacy items are not changed to the new affixes when reforged. But I'm not talking about super old legacies. I'm talking about stuff that dropped in 2.0.6.
Probably a retarded question but by PS do you mean Playstation? Cause I have an Xbox 360. But if you can backup your save on one you can probably do it on the other. Hard to believe you could do that though. Wouldn't everybody just do that to systematically give themselves all perfect rolls on everything with no wasting of materials?

They do that... that's why console sucks with hacks and dupes.

I tried this on Xbox 360 but it won't let me copy the save file. Must be a Playstation only thing. Still looking for some concrete answers to my questions.

Bump.

I don't have a PS myself, so I can't confirm this 100%, but that's how it was said to be working (and working for sets).
However, I read you can backup you save game on PS. Why not do that, try it, and if it rolls "the old way", you can just restore your backup.
This way, you have 100% confirmation about it working or not, without any risk.
If it does roll great, you don't have to restore your backup either.
Please post back the results

(1) Reforging will NOT give them the orange affix.
(2) Old items do have a chance to be reforged into ancients even if you received them prior to release of ancients being released.
(3) All set items will have their set bonuses changed automatically upon patch update.
Thank you for the direct answers.
