Today I present a high-AOE Heaven's Fury/Ascendancy build. The Holy Shotgun spec is ideal for group play with a pull Monk, but it's pretty painful solo because of the skill's targeting system. For that reason, I wanted to make a build that's essentially the same gear as shotgun except for 1 piece (the Eberli Charo shield), so you can easily alternate between the two when soloing or grouping up.
In this video I go over the build, gear, paragon points, solo a T5 rift, and talk about T6 potential. Enjoy!
When you have 6/6 Akhan pieces (or 5/6 + RORG) you can swap out iron skin for another skill just like you said, since you'll have close to 100% uptime on Akarat's champion Prophet rune anyway. I'd recommend Condemn with Vacuum rune. Just pop it and most enemies will be pulled on top you which will make the 3 heavens fury beams stack on top of each other , dealing massive damage. You can also combine this skill with Strongarm bracers for an additional boost. Works great.

Thanks a lot for posting this. It looked like a loot of fun in the vid so even though I have no where near the required gear to utilize it fully I gave it a shot - and it is a blast!
Now all I need is an Eberli, a ring of royal grandeur, a decent Fate with CD - rerolled mine like a boss - 3 more pieces of Akkhan and I'm set. Easy right
Yup, I'm definitely going to revisit it soon in T6 and I'll try it with Vacuum to test effectiveness. Might work well with that + Ess of Johan.
Taar - you don't NEED a RoRG, it's just nice to have. FoTF doesn't have to have CDR. In fact, I think a well rolled one with 10% dmg is a lot better. Akkhan set isn't too hard to get if you just focus on RIF and gamble all shards on the pieces.
Go for full Akkhan first. Once you see how powerful the set is with 56% CDR, you will never go back to anything else on the sader. No other pieces are worth gambling for until you get the full set. Grats on the Hellskull though, it'll come in handy.

Easily T6 viable. Great build.
