Wondering what you guys think. Could this be a good build come 2.2? Has anyone tried anything like this yet on the PTR?
Basically the main points of the build are using 3 spirit generators for max combination strike, 4 piece inna's, 2 piece raiment, flying dragon, lots of AS, crudest boots for 40% damage with fire mystic ally, simplicity's strength gem, and broken promises with no extra crit hit % from gear.
That could be a good alternative. The only problem with that is no elemental damage bonus when using Deadly Reach. But since Deadly Reach would only be 1/3rd of the hits it might be worth it.
I don't think having the 3 generators would ever be worth it.
I am not sure if combination strike gives 20% or 30% damage, but either way it requires 2 skills and a passive just to get that 20/30% damage.
You would be much better off using blinding light - faith in light which gives a 28% damage boost or breath of heaven, or inner fire epiph, or serenity.
It is at this point which you realize the build has the same skills that a tempest rush build does, only that build does 10X the damage.
I really really wish generator builds were stronger, and I was super excited about the PTR changes when they first went live but I don't see generators leaving T6.

You might be right. I share the same concerns, but I think it's at least worth a try.
I am guessing that the double the passive effect works the same way the unity passive does i.e on mantras on or off the skillbar.
There isn't much benifit to using gungos with madstone, innas, and quick SSS. All the mobs will already be palmed. I also don't see how SSS would be better than the other damaging spenders + innas. LTK -Hand of Ytar, or exploding bell I think would do much more damage.
Just thought of this build: http://www.diablofans.com/builds/53580-monk-2-2-spirit-generators-only-build

Would changing your Deadly reach rune to foresight net you more damage? Either way looks like a fun build.

Yeah I tried out dashing strike today in t6 and had a lot of fun but explosive bells definitely clears quicker because of the AoE.
