Well I know there are a couple major factions that you have to choose between storyline wise, hopefully that choice will greatly alter the story. I just think the game overall is looking really great. I also am pretty confident I can run Elder Scrolls with this card. I certainly am not buying a new one I just got this one. If anything I think my CPU will bottleneck stuff.
I'm not too worried though, I run everything else fine, aside from Rage which I don't feel like was a good indicator.
I pre ordered it for Xbox for two reasons. 1. I know that my other buddy who pre ordered it is getting it for Xbox and it's pretty fun chillin in a party BSing about your epic adventures. and 2. My PC is inferior :'(
That's a shame. When you can get mods to work, they're excellent. I have a lot of faith in the soon to be Skyrim mod community.
Anyways I preorded the game on steam without thinking about it. Now I realize I have to redownload it everytime I screw up my game with a mod! Oh well, I just need to be more careful of what I do.
That's a long time off anyways. I don't see myself downloading any mods for a while.
@Siaynoq: No I don't think there is. The only bonus I've seen so far is a map that comes with most retail versions.
Yeah I like playing a game vanilla for awhile, just to see how it's originally meant to be played. Is there anything trickier about getting mods to work when you're running the game out of Steam?
I won't wanna wait too long before trying out some mods though cause the modding community is too active and you really wanna keep up with the best ones or you have the problem I did with F3 mods just trying to choose some and making sure none conflicted with each other.
Man, I can't wait to spend an hour customizing my female Breton. Strange, I've never really been a caster in games like this, but I just like the idea that there is a human race that is predisposed toward magic and not even necessarily at casting, but having a resistance to it.
I also read that the facial customization features will be way better than Oblivion's. This does not mean there will be more options though as I understand it, but that changes you make to the face will be more distinctive than the ones you could do in Oblivion. And it's smart they revised this. It's funny how much you can alter in the faces on Oblivion and yet no matter how hard you try, it still all comes out looking exactly the same.
I'm skeptical though. Like here, I still say all those faces look like slight variations of Tricia Helfer.
Have you found any screens of the custom faces though? Cause seriously, in Oblivion I spent so much freaking time trying to make my female face look distinctive and you can only go so far.
I did read a few press reviews that talked a little about customization, let me see if I can find one.
Well of course I can't now... Game informer has a nice article this month the guy mentions the character customization is just as in depth as Oblivions but it's lost the cartoony look.
Hmm. What I'm saying though is that Oblivion's face customization wasn't that in depth. It only seemed like it was. Like you had so many options on how to alter the face, but somehow no matter how hard you tried, it still came out looking more or less like the rest of the NPC's.
The loss of certain stats didn't really bug me. I mean, when I leveled up in Oblivion, I just increased whatever stat would have gotten the greater increase.
It was a weird system. I'm glad it's just easier to be what you want to be without the worry of having to choose a class or any of that crap.

New article over at Giantbomb from a guy who played the game several hours. He's got some interesting things to say and there are a few new screenshots as well. Check it out.
Ooo reading it now, though I have doubts about Giant Bomb.
Not a bad read.
I read in the game informer article of the 3 hour play through that you can pick up corpses! The guy said he picked up a dead wolf and tossed it into a river. Instead of sinking though it drifted down stream. That excites me.
I wasn't too excited about Skyrim even a month ago. But after carefully watching the one demo they got, as well as reading some really informative articles I gotta admit I finally got the bug.
But it's driving me crazy they're not releasing much new info. This close to release yet this far away I could really use a fix. So I'm just taking the scraps where I find them.

Damn.. I just figured your avatar is that parasite that eats the fish's tongue and then sits there to replace it..
So excited for this game. I will get it a couple months down the line though. This way no temptation until I've submitted all my assignments and I will be playing it in the 2-3 weeks holidays around Christmas.
I just wanna roleplay like crazy in this game. Something I really enjoyed in F3 where I sort of created my own background story for my character. Made me wanna start writing fan fiction sometimes. Bethesda games have a nice sandbox quality to them that way.
I'm not too worried though, I run everything else fine, aside from Rage which I don't feel like was a good indicator.

And those faces are all presets. I could easily see them allowing you to change the faces a lot more.

You're right about Oblivion though. Hopefully they give us a little more leeway this time.
Edit: Why are you never on MSN.

This. It's more simple now, which isn't ALWAYS a bad thing.
I did enjoy having a custom class title though. Even if you only saw it on your stats screen. Oh well I can still call myself an Ebon Arrow if I want!

It was a pretty good article. I had already read it before Siaynoq posted it though cause I watch Skyrim news like a hawk nowadays.
