I do have to wonder whether you are being thick on purpose here.
That they take growth hormones and stack on steroids is NO secret whatsoever. Maybe back in your time it was. But now?
And that made their 'sacrifice' easier? This is just ridiculous.
Are you telling me that to keep maintaining that body, all they need is to stuff their face with steroids? Are you kidding me? Considering that you are starting to get back into shape, i would have thought you would be more appreciative of human discipline and determination when you see it.
Nothing is easy in that. I am no body builder but I train to stay on the athletics team and I recognize effort when I see it.
A pity other people can't do the same.
Anything to bring down and belittle the determination and achievement of others because you couldn't do the same I guess.
If bodybuilders came in front of me claiming to be superior or some shit, then ya, it would certainly annoy me.
But i don't have any beef with them. These guys know the risks and are doing their thing while knowing they will snuff it sooner than most. They are doing it to their OWN bodies and have the committment to train almost every freaking day.
And for that ya, I do respect them.
....
And it unnerves you. Good going.
You miss understand what I'm saying. I'm not suggesting they are not working out and making the daily sacrifice. I do know from personal experience steroids make getting in the gym and giving your all a lot easier, a hell of lot easier than what I'm going through now. Natural body builders pay a bigger price than those who juice. I used steroids to break through sticking points, like I said I did one shot of deca, I also at another time for 2 weeks did a light amount of Anavar, and during another sticking point moment did a week of Dbol.
Steroids make you highly aggressive, you have more energy, you recover much faster meaning you are not sore for nearly as long. The difference between when I went to the gym not on steroids was HUGE to when I was. Without steroids I mentally had to force myself to get to the gym and have the best workout possible even when I was über sore. On steroids I was like a pit bull who couldn't be kept away from the gym, I couldn't wait to get there and workout. Every rep every motion was like HULK SMASH! It was an adrenalin euphoria working out on roids.
There is a primal mental change that occurs when you are using steroids that makes it a lot easier to workout. I had to fight the urge after I stopped using steroids to not go get more because you really feel good when you are on them. Not euphoric like other drugs, but healthy, energetic, and strong, you are just ready to go on steroids. So yes the video to some degree is bull shit. When you take it from a natural body builder perspective, it's even an insult to those us who used like I did and even more so to those who never used them. There are a lot of natural body builders who feel this way when they see Weider's poster children, and in his M&F magazines they still pretend no one takes steroids, officially they just wave Joe Weider's flag for being such a great inspiration and his supplements made all the difference in the world
If that video had nothing but natural body builders in it, I would have applauded the video with you.
Let's face it, there is a big difference between this natural guy
There were tornadoes all around my area Friday night. The death toll in my state is up to 20. I know people that were near enough to get photos, but not any of the people that were hurt. Most of those people were probably just enjoying the begining of their weekend and suddenly had their lives turned upside down. When you think about it, it makes you feel sad and lucky at the same time. And now, two days after tornadoes, its snowing. Seems so weird.
I can't even understand why people try to make a living in places so violent. The last time my country had a tornado is many decades ago. We get the occasional hurricane, but they are always very small. But even the last hurricane was about 10 years ago, something like 2002/2004. Just took a couple tiles off our roof and knocked down our apple tree. I did love that apple tree though.
It's a bit of a shock here. Our part of the state is a little south of what everyone calls "tornado alley." So we're not in an area that gets hit very often. I don't think the community I live in during the week has had a tornado in my life time (got missed by a few miles this time too). Where I stay on weekends, it's a bit more common but still fairly rare.
@FB As for your storm.... uh.... er, no comment. LOL! But it definitely lightens the mood.
One more, lighter hearted weather comment. I was out shopping Friday and found some awesome coats over 75% off and some boots with a pretty good discount on them. I don't think ahead very much, so I hate buying things I can't wear for months. So the sudden unexpected snow is awesome. Get to try my new stuff! WOOT!

I grew up in Iowa, I often wondered why the hell my family chose to live there when twisters hit. I've saw enough that action in my 18 years there.
That picture rulz! :Thumbs Up: Somehow I think I know that lady from somewhere, Julie (I won;t say her last name here). It would be funny if it was her and I met up with her again. "Oh hey I saw a picture of you getting your leg humped recently and just thought I would call to say hi, hows it going?"

I don't do it myself, but I trained Olympic weightlifting for a while. It deserves as much respect as any other sport in my opinion.
I'm and endurance runner
Sorry couldn't resist. I plead guilty to all charges.
Haha. Classic Nekrodrac!
It's the effort that really counts.
Now let's get this juxtaposed with bodybuilding and wrestling.

That's what I was doing! Got tired of people playing on the rooftop though.

Now there's a good reason to have boots. You can't have too many layers of protection from hormonally challenged dogs.
