It's about:
- D3's loot system.
- The flaws of it.
- Reasons why people are getting bored real quick.
- Possible solutions to the loot system.
It's a wall of text, but definitely a good read. The guy's a game's designer so he knows what he's talking about. I think he hit the nail on the head with this one.
I have to say this, I think they ruined the butcher, my main strategy with him was kiting him towards a jailed room and kill him safely behind the bars, now I'm stuck in this little room and the demon pulling me all the time... let me kite him!!!
ok no, but I'm curious are all bosses in a small place? I like the bosses being close to their minions, I think is a bad hell policie to make them have their lairs away from action...

He has some pretty good ideas. It's too bad Blizzard will never respond/acknowledge them. I really have to agree with the change of just being able to go into an act and not have to follow any of the storyline. It's so annoying even for me just going through Nightmare mode and having to skip everything. I don't see why they made so many useless cut scenes... like the part in the sewers where you hit those levers to go behind the waterfall. >_<
It was cool the first time... but a game that's meant to be played by going through it over & over it's very tedious.
Finally light at the end of the tunnel with work, 18 hour days the last 2 days, I'll sleep well tonight. Still managed to squeeze in an hour of D3 with the witch doctor even though and then today I found out I close on the new house tomorrow. Today was a good day.
You better post some pics of your new house when you're all done unpacking all of your boxes!!
That may a couple months, we're going to have a pool put in and don't want to be there for that process. I do have pic's from when we looked at it originally, I was taking shots of every place we looked at so my wife and I could compare and discuss at the end of each day.
Master bedroom
Master bathroom
Balcony off master bedroom
All the homes in the community come with a bare bone back yard, pool not included.
If you are wondering if all homes in the desert have stucco exteriors? Yeah pretty much 99% of them are made of stucco because of the dry heat. Wood homes in the desert don't fare well.
We got wood blinds thrown in for free throughout the house, nice little perk we negotiated.
No one plays together here. At least not on US servers / the people that have added me.
I'm sorry Tralari, I'm kind of anal in how I play the game, I want to play all the characters back to back in normal mode, then again in nightmare mode, and then I'll feel like I'm ready for coop. Probably seems autistic of me, but I never enjoyed D1 or D2 with multiple players because so many players always rushed through the game and like to clear entire maps before moving on to the next. That and D1 had all those macro f*** weeny griefing bastards that had to come ruin peoples games. I'm apprehensive about D3 coop.
I enjoy drawing stuff and playing with cats....Not much D3 going on over hur.

I beat Belial on nightmare and I didn't even die once. When I fought him on normal, I probably died about 7 times.
I think I died the first time through about 5 times too, I didn't realize his smashing arms didn't hurt you nearly as much as his green expanding bomb attacks. Reminded me of Duriel a bit, no place to run.
Isn't that thing called a mansion instead of a house?
Now it makes sense why it's taking you so long to close on the house. It's probably the count licence and the vampyre mannerisms that are holding you back. ain't it?
Awesome house though in all seriousness man, and I hope the times in there are ever better!!!
Thanks for the good wishes, it is a dream home for us, mostly for my wife. She has never had a house in her entire life, even as a kid because she grew up poor in the ghetto, so it's really a big deal for her. Our first home we bought and live in now is a condo in an 8-plex building. It's been fun watching her throughout the process.
When we went to look at the place and got in the sales office to make the offer on the house the plan was to look modestly interested, you know put on a poker face so to speak. About 10 minutes into the offer my wife loses it and begins to cry uncontrollably, it took everyone in the room by surprise including myself. At that moment the reality that something good she never thought would happen hit like a ton of bricks and she lost it. I thought to myself "well there goes our leverage in getting what we want" but just the opposite happened. My wife apologized as she visibly struggled to gain composure and explained how she never had anything. The agent in the sales office representing the builders got tears in her eyes then said "I'm going to do everything I can to get you into this house." I was like Okay... I'll take it where I can get it !
30 years in the workforce, I've had 1 near good hit which fell on it's face, and now finally got a nice little shot in the arm with company stock. With the economy being what it is I don't want to leave anything in the stock market or the bank. So we're dumping it all in the house because with prices being where they are at, it will at least hold some value until the financial world pulls its head out of its ass.

So glad things are working out on the house. And thanks for taking the time to share the story too. I hope you and your family have lots of happy years there.
As for Belial, I think I already said it here, but on normal I completely freaked out because he was the first thing in the game designed to pretty much one shot you. I went into double digit numbers of tries before I calmed down enough to play properly and take him out. On one try, I was even so stressed that I mis-clicked and dragged one of my skills off the hotkeybar. How sad is that?
At least, now I know the pattern and I've had no trouble in later difficulties. And now that I've played in inferno with bad gear for a while, I'm used ot the idea of anything being able to one shot me, so I don't panic anymore.
Thanks Daemaro, I've been there, I've even been homeless a couple times in my life, so I don't take good things for granted when they come.
Thanks Succubus also, I know what you mean, you go through the game smiting with relative ease and then there are certain little bastards that come and knock the stew out of you. Kind of wakes you up in the game LOL!
@Vegas - Oh now I remember some of those pics. That house looks awesome!! Do you and your wife have enough belongings to make the new house feel like a home and not a empty house?!?!
I fucking like cats as well!!
Wrote my second exam today, was orait, will definitely pass I hope!!
Finally I'll be able to play D3 for a bit before getting in front of the books again...meh.

Pfft... you're like 1 of 2 people that I joined. Lol. I only played for like 15 minutes cause I was exhausted. After 9pm Central I'm pretty much on the verge of passing out.
OH LORD!! I've been playing all day!! I close my eyes and I see item tags!! this isn't healthy!
luckily the servers kicked me out, just after I killed the siegebreaker, I had to come back to watch the cinematic though, and then a fallen killed me, that's a wake up call right there
Finally in Hell. Maybe gonna play a bit more now...but's already 2am and I'm tired...BUT I WANT TO PLAY!!
@Tralari - I'm also the kind of guy that explores every spot on the map, it's rewarding!!
PS - I know you can't be friends on bnet with people from other regions, but what if I changed my region? Will I get all the friend requests I got while on the other servers on the one I'm on now or what?

@ Tralari you can join my games any time , you were easy on me.
luckily the servers kicked me out, just after I killed the siegebreaker, I had to come back to watch the cinematic though, and then a fallen killed me, that's a wake up call right there
Ha ha.. I play the same style anyway. Uncover the map entirely and search all the bodies/barrels.
Plus I just tend to follow people in games I join. Like a stalker.
