So did anyone else here besides me just play the game? Or did everyone do what Elfen did and get all into the storyline and stuff?
seems that way, i came to diablo thru DND, so when i play RPG games i really get into the story.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I never just play a game. Unless I'm engaged in multiplayer, I get very into the storylines of games. It's what makes them so great for me. Maybe 1 out of 10 games have good plots these days.
we need more games like the games of old, they had truly epic storylines, and great characters. games like Diablo, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and the like.
Fable was pretty good, game was just too short, God of War was good too, and i never really got into ES IV, but i figure its got a good story.

I normally get into the storyline and I probably did when I first played through D2 the first couple of times. But I guess it has just been too long since then and now I just play the game and forget about the stories and cinematics.
yeah im sure i knew what the storyline was to Diablo.....but its been so long since i first read thru it......now i just "yeah, yeah" my way thru peoples blather.....
but Baldur's Gate 2 had one of the best storylines IMO....same with Planescape: Torment....ahhh those were the days

Im too lazy to think of something of significant meaning to put here.

Hell yeah it did. the BG series was amazing in terms of storyline.

the best was the random interactions between characters in BG 2....even when you had Sarevok on your team.....they just dont make RPGS like they used to. maybe one day they'll make a BG 3

It's pretty decent. But not nearly as good as Morrowind's.
But yeah, many older games are great story wise. I just think since they didn't have the graphics like they do now, they kind of had to focus more on that type of substance in plot.

hell BG2 and D2 have pretty good graphics (and story line of course) even for today. i like them more than the WOW graphics.

with the ultimo end of the series finish TOB had, i doubt it, unless its a prequel, set during the time of Balduran or something.
but technically IWD is the prequel to BG, it happens 30 or s oyears before Drizzt arrives in Amn or whatever, and IWDII is the sequel to BGII, if you get the mod for IWDII, you can get some items from BGII, and in their description it says the ywere used by your character, as well as a few of the NPCs.

Everyone please remember...there are still two lesser evils that have not been slained yet. Azmodan and Belial. Either we finish off hell and destroy the remaining lesser evils...or...Azmodan and Belial will ressurrect the primal evils...or...the Primal Evils escape from the abyss. I believe that baal's soulstone alone will not fullfill the storyline in the next installment. More has to be included to make the game complete. MHO.
Well, I think it there wont be any other chances for Baal to come back, but think about it, if Diablo was really destroyed, how could the next game be called Diablo III.
It's the main thing in the game, Maybe Diablo will use Azmodan and Belian as he used Baal and Mephisto

a game set during the Sin War/Binding of the Three, is quite possible.
Id play that game.
I just dont like it when prequels have better stuff than originals, like Star Wars, the prequels have better ships and droids, then what happend to them in the originlas they arent there, i know the Empire is said to have gone hunting and destroyed all remnents of the old Republic, but still you'd think a few would have survived. but enough about that.
D3 as a prequel, it could happen. if its set during the Sin War that would be awesome. lots of demons and mages.

Totally. This is the period when the power of the mage clans were at its highest and there was lots of fighting between them. You would have the Horadrim when they were either being founded or a full on group.
Everything that's going on during the Sin War is really fascinating to me so far. And personally, I'm sure I said this before, I think it would be far more interesting to play a game of that era than something soon after the Worldstone's destruction.

yes, its such an interesting time period. Izual's betrayal, Inarius Inprisoned, the war in Hell, the Prime Evils fighting the Lesser evils and killing roughly a third ofthe denizens of hell, their banishment of Prime Evils to the mortal world, the binding of the three.

Just because the name is Diablo, doesn't necessarily mean diablo will be in it, just think of the Zelda games, a few of those don't have Princess Zelda in them at all.
Indeed. I actually think I'm one of the very few who don't think it's that necessary that Diablo is even in the next game. And I still feel it would be okay if it were called Diablo.
Many ne evils may take birth but it is the rebirth of evil some one of the previous evils has to return.
