In case you didn't realize, there's no need to panic. The title of this thread is a joke. I'm not here to subjugate. Jeff (who you will all know as Daemaro), who is an old friend of mine, brought me on board today to test the waters as another moderator here for the new years.
Don't worry, though, I know from experience just how scary a new person can be. So I want to make it clear I intend to learn all the rules of this site and get to know you, the members, and become acquainted with this community before I do anything of any importance. Even then, my importance will likely be slim.
I'll start off with a little about myself:
My name is Nya. I'm 20, going on 21. Currently a University student in New Jersey (I moved here from Canada to live with my Dad's family - go free room and board!). If you couldn't tell: I'm obsessed with the movie Avatar, at least for now. If there's anything else you want to know about me, please ask me. I don't bite.
So like, no already existing member deserved to get modded, so a new one had to be brought in? No disrespect to the new blue person, I like her and all, I'm just a tad bit confused, that's all.
Yeeeahh.... weird to see a moderator with only 2 posts..

Now, now... Are you guys questioning our judgment? What's the matter, you don't trust us? :(.
We want whats best for the community and if we didn't think Nya would not be able to handle our high expectations, we would not have offered her a Staff position. She's definitely going to be an asset to the community, trust us, ^_^.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
We have lots of big personalities here. Hopefully they won't scare you off.:P
It's always good to add to the female population here.
There arn't too many of us.
Do you have a favorite char?

I don't get how when a movie shows non-human characters who have boobs, or a video game has some big boobed girls (hello Japanese fighting games), all of a sudden, a shitload of guys start drooling. It's just pixels, man.
I guess I forgot to mention her moderating experience in this thread, she used to mod for a site I frequented a few years back for quite some time, I believe she may have modded for a couple other sites since then as well.
Trust me she wasn't picked just because she has a blue avatar. She knows how forums work, both externally and somewhat internally. She's also good with people and a fair mod.
I'll let her answer the rest for herself when she gets on.
WELCOME!! stay awhile and listen (and post)... that doesn't feel right for a mod... mmm... lets see... i think this is the most appropriate Diablo quote: yep, that's a cow alright!!
btw: I liked your intro Nya!! I think you'll have what it takes for having blue name and we, as good users, shall make you suffer!!! mooooahahahahahahah (just kidding):P
maybe not.......
The blue name is simply an unexpected bonus of the position here. I had no idea until I signed up that I would be color-coded to my favorite. I mean, let's face it: blue is the sexiest color ever.
I want to thank everyone who posted in here, whether it was a welcome, a warning, or a wonderance (is that a word?). This seems like a really lively community and one that will not be scared to give me feedback while I am learning the ropes of these boards. I'll try to answer all the questions that were asked of me, but I must warn that I am tired from a long day of having information forcibly implanted into my brain by so-called "professors".
The new Diablo Patch doesn't greatly affect me, actually, since I almost always play singe-player. From what I know of it, though, it seems like it offers a lot of quick fixes to minor problems that aren't really going to hold up long into the future. Except the re-specialization part. That is good change.
As for favorite characters. If you mean within the Diablo series it might have to be the Assassin. She's kick-ass and she has black hair, like me, so it makes me feel like I'm actually in the game. Is that weird? If you meant in general, it would probably be Neytiri from Avatar. But I'm kind of like a bird when it comes to favorite characters. I sort of fly over to a new one every time I see something shiny.
My qualifications in forum moderation (that sounds overly official, but what are you going to do) date back a bunch of years to when Daemaro and I were both members on this little old Lord of the Rings forum that doesn't even exist anymore. Most of my moderation there involved the more technical forum stuff, as opposed to the other-member stuff, although I was actively involved in the forums as a user. That site eventually faded into obscurity when the owner decided he couldn't keep paying for it and it shut down.
I've moderated a few other boards and administrated a couple as well. I'm sure few, if any of them, exist anymore. I've sort of taken the last few years off from that sort of thing to really focus on my studies. But I mean, really, all it takes to moderate is a good understanding of the rules, a level head, and the ability to function outside of bias. The advantage I have is I don't really know anyone personally yet, so I can't have a bias. Still, I think that my technical knowledge of the innermost workings of VBulletin will come in handy as well as my interest in human behavior and conflict-management.
I don't want to say that I'm an expert though. Far from it. That's why I'm not in charge and am what we used to call on an old board a "junior" moderator. I really want everyone to be comfortable with me before I start making any sort of judgments. It just wouldn't be right otherwise.

Some people asked Nya some questions like her favorite character, so I'll give her a chance to answer.
