Now this is quite hilarious. Anonymous strikes again! Over one gigabyte of secure data belonging to Vanguard Defense Industries released to the general public. I'd place this under the "Freedom of Information Act" right?
They are Legion.
They do not forgive.
They do not forget.
Expect them.
I'm a little suprised they don't have a better publicist. Back in the day the leaked stuff would have made it into widely read media immidiately. But I guess their intended audience is a bit smaller than the general public?
Well, Anonymous isn't a "guild", if you would, of people, it's a loose grouping of like minded individuals and these guys might do something and not have the connections to the media that this other group has.
While I understand the premise, nothing is stopping a single member of even a highly nebulous group from funneling garnered information into the hands of people who can make it widely known. You don't need a deepthroat in the age of the internet and in-fact i'd be shocked to hear that bloggers wouldn't jump at the chance to publish their findings.
It's nothing but citizens they recruit to spy on one another and in return they get privileged information from the FBI about certain things. Citizens should not have this much power. They have been known to land people on a no fly list for simply attending a protest or posting something on facebook.
Everyone from the President of the United States of America to Jimmy the Fry Cook at McDonalds are all citizens. I just want to point this out before my next comment.
I agree, the kind of power like this is wrong for any one citizen.
Or did you mean the kind of power to take the information from these corrupt companies?
I mean one citizen should not be bribed with privy intel in order to spy on other citizens. Information for all, or information for none. I don't like the FBI using it as a carrot on a stick.
It's not just the information they get though, they can directly phone you in to the FBI and the next thing you know your door is being kicked down and your house being tossed searching for who knows what they said you had.

Does that make sense? o.O

Utter garbage.

Personal experience?
They give these people wayyy too much power and it's too easily abused.
Well, American and Canada are both turning into a Military State anymore.
This is getting really sad.
