The shadow of evil. If evil is already black, then its shadow must be soo much blacker. Can you just imagine the amount of evil that would be? Thats my interpretation, atleast.
Its like the opposite of "Ureh, the Light among Lights".
i liked the other ones a lot more. the skull looks fake and it doent really look like a skull

I think the idea was that the boxarts represented the bosses at the end of the game..
D1 - Diablo
D2 - Diablo
LOD - Baal
It's unlikely that Mephisto will be the boss of D3 imo, so I rather doubt that he'd be on the cover.
The last boss od Diablo 2 was Baal...

No the last boss in D2 was Diablo. It wasn't until the expansion pack (Lord of Destruction) that you fought Baal, who was also on the cover of that game. The Diablo II boxart featured the skull of the canon hero from the first game after being posessed by Diablo (essentially showcasing Diablo).
EDIT: Anyways, this does not relate to my box art. Please stay on topic (the moderator[s] are already busy enough).

Nope. Notice the hole in the skull's forehead where the hero shoved Big D's soulstone into his head at the end of the game?
Anyways, enough discussion of previous box arts. Let's stay on topic.
ah....
good point...
anyway, i rated your boxart (i didnt like it)

I really like this. In the Diablo II cinematics, you would see Diablo as the wanderer with a perfect robe. The one in your boxart is torn and ripped as if he had fought a long war/was defeated. I like the eye, as if a new evil had been sparked, where the Diablo II boxart featured empty eyes. The blurred background makes it seem that the skeleton is the only sharp thing there (adds emphasis and shows power). Very nicely done. 9.5/10.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
The only problem I have with the boxart is the border.
Notice how the border and the image work very well together, almost as if they were one image (yes I know that contradicts the meaning of a border, but that's how Blizzard did it).
Now here, the digital art of yours sticks out so much from the border in the bottom right. Hopefully you can see what I mean.

I still don't understand "The Shadow of Evil." Is it because Belail and Azmodad were always in the shadows of the greater evils? And is this a hint that your boxart represents a game with Belail and Azmodad?

As in most of my pieces, interpretation of the meaning is up to you. I have my own idea of what it means, but being able to figure one out for yourself is often the most rewarding way of approaching this sort of thing.
My interpretation does not involve Belial and Azmodan for this one - although one of my other box arts, Diablo III - Rebirth of Evil, does.
i liked the rebirth of evil and tyreal is evil the most

Yes. Fall from Grace is my personal favourite aswell. Too bad that was the only one that I worked on with someone else, so I can't claim full credit for it.
that made me lose 20% respect for you as an artist
(you should've said so before)
