It had seemed the Horadrim had succeeded. It was thought all three of the prime evils had been trapped within the ancient artifacts known as the Soulstones and banished back to where they had been spawned from. The ones who knew nothing thought that the Sin War had finally come to an end. This was a grave miscalculation. I will tell you the true story of what happened when they tried to capture the youngest of the three, Diablo, the Lord of Hatred....
"Ashamma lorremis kin orthos" chanted the hooded figure. From his body emnated a powerful yet subtle arcane power, the likes of which had never been known to these lesser demons. Not expecting anything, they recklessly charged this ominous spellwarrior, weapons poised and at the ready. 'Fools' thought the hooded one. He raised his hand and cried to the heavens in an ancient language that all demons feared,"Geslo nuthra!" The spell activated and the earth stirred,as if remembering past battles that had been fought on this very ground. A field of electrical energy burst from his body and expanded. The demons froze in their path, enchanted by its destructive beauty. It was the last they saw. Thousands upon thousands of bolts of energy went through their bodies, tearing through their flesh like a million hot daggers. Some of the demons' bodies couldnt handle such a force and simply exploded. The rest were reduced to nothing, as if they had totally vanished. Nothing stood in his way now. He was standing at the very gates of Hell, but there was one challenge left ahead of the enigmatic hero. The Gaurdian of the Gates of Hell.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
