Having played D2 countless times in single player, and reading a lot of what's been going on battlenet, it's clear to me that there is a huge difference in what you can accomplish. I can't get onto battlenet (very bad connection) so I'm aiming to make my single player experience closer to online play. With a little boost because I hate taking forever to get something done.
With rigged runewords like Faith available online and not in single player, along with other high level uniques easily obtainable via trades, the difference is that on single player you're stuck with second rate items.
Another major problem is the immunities on hell difficulty. For characters like the Sorceress, it is near impossible to finish hell, even if you're going dual-tree, as one of the elements is almost always underpowered. There's also the problem of multi-immunity bosses.
What I'm aiming for is to create an item that will even things out. Naturally this will be considered a 'cheat' item, but I don't want something that is rigged beyond belief, I want something that will try to keep a good balance between difficulty and insanity. I'm also trying to make the item satisfy the needs of all 7 classes as evenly as possible. Here's what I've come up with:
Thoughts? Suggestions? It may be underpowered or overpowered in some areas.
Note: Might lvl 13 gives 160% bonus dmg. The reason I made it rather high is because I've seen screenshots with bowazons getting in excess of 6000dmg. My highest level bowazon has roughly 800dmg, and even if I do get super lucky and find a Burize, it will probably only go up to about 1900dmg. It's clear to me that a significant boost is needed, hence the Might lvl 13.
Notes: I'm on v1.10. Additionally I do not plan on adding a singleplayer runeword mod.
Actually it does help a bit. I'm not aiming for any break points with the charm itself. The charm just helps reach the break points in combination with other items.
I was mainly wondering about the -15% to enemy resistances, and whether that should be higher. If physical dmg is increased by 160%, then 15% increase for a Sorceress or Druid would be paltry. I'm thinking about increasing it to -35% or even -50% enemy resistances, and perhaps instead of -cold resistance, boost cold skill dmg, since with the Sorceress you're already getting -enemy cold resistance with cold mastery.
