posted a message on Say goodbye to vampire bats
Changelog for expansion: "Vampire Bats : Gain 2.5% of damage done by the bats as LifeFirebats no longer has a channeling cost."

    No more +2.5% lifesteal.

This may change in future, or not. I sure hope it changes or I'll have to resort to the other Firebat rune: the one which increases channeling dmg over time, which won't go over too well considering I often have massive lag, making constant channeling nearly impossible.

Anyone else shocked at this potential change?

Because YOU are supposed to be playing the game, not an army of pets.

Says who? You are supposed to be having fun. I find having an army of pets doing the work for me fun. It should be an optional build. Hell, there should be several such optional builds.

Thank goodness for PoE. I can build an army of pets that actually kills things. Best of all, when they die, they explode automatically. This is fun. No need to manually blow them up like suiciding zombie dogs.

diablo 3 wins, RMAH.. need i say more ?
You've said enough right there. RMAH is the reason Diablo 3 is a failure. Everything Blizzard is doing and has done for Diablo 3 has been out of greed, and the RMAH has been the source of that greed.

    Quote from Gheed2010
In a perfect world, an ARPG would have the Diablo dev team circa 1997 and the Blizzard money (and pick of industry talent with it) circa now.
I may be wrong, but I heard that most of PoE's devs are ex-Diablo 1/2 developers.

Also throwing Blizzard level funds at PoE is all very well, but look at where greed got Diablo 3. I'm not too sure virtually unlimited funds would be a good thing for PoE development. If you're making a game for the money, it fails. If you're making it for the players, it usually succeeds; or at least this is the case with D3/PoE.

In a perfect world PoE would run on diablo's engine
I prefer PoE's engine & graphics. D3's looks good, but it feels too much like it's painted. You can go into the woods in Act 1 and you'll see - the trees and everything are stationary and don't move. Most of the areas aren't randomized, so it's like coming back and looking at the same painting over and over. Sure it looks good, but it gets old fast.

You could... just keep the items? Take a few months break then return for more fun. Or sell and gear up a WD/Barb/DH

If you're moving on from D3, have you considered trying Path of Exile? The open beta starts on 23 Jan.

posted a message on Why Nerf/Fix Reflect Damage?
The blizzard that made Diablo 3 is not the same Blizzard that made Diablo 1 and 2, don't forget.

The current blizzard is also blinded by the greed that WOW has induced. The Diablo 1 & 2 devs could only make money by making the best game possible so that it would sell well in stores. Diablo 3 devs are only concerned with exploiting the RMAH to the highest degree in order to make money.

Removing the RMAH would have probably gone a long way towards improving Diablo 3, but it's not the only problem. The real problem is Diablo 3 tried to cater too much towards children, so they removed a lot of the darkness and horror. Imo, the darkness/horror aspect is what made Diablo what it was, and the Diablo 3 devs missed that completely.

How is Witch Doctor especially vulnerable to RD? With spirit walk, you basically become immune to RD for 3 seconds. If it takes you much longer than 3 seconds to kill elites then you're playing the wrong MPlvl.

It needs to be nerfed/fixed because we don't want to hurt ourselves. We want the monsters to hurt us. Arcane lasers and molten pools killing me is fine. RD killing me is just stupid.

posted a message on A major problem in this game...
The item identifying problem exists because there are too many rares. Rares should be rare. They should be so rare, that for every 1 legendary, you find 4 rares.

If you're relatively high paragon lvl with decent magic find, and you find 3 legendaries in an entire act run, then you should find roughly 12 rares as well. Not the current ridiculous full inventory of rares every 20 minutes.

Then the rares should roll stats that make them good. Every rare should be good. On average they still shouldn't be better than the average legendary, but there can still be a chance for rares to roll better than a very good legendary.

WD rare helm? Roll vit, roll int, roll lifesteal or LoH, roll crit or socket, roll mana regen. There you go, a decent rare. If a WD helm rolls strength it's not a rare, it's trash.

What the hell is multiboxing? I watched this vid in low-q (I wish you video creators would add more text description for those who don't want to watch a video). What is happening in the video seems illegal though. What gives?

I have roughly 1000 LoH. But that's besides the point. The topic at hand is whether followers can equip items with "health globes and potions grant +xxxx life" that will affect the main character.

Because it's a viable addition to standard EHP and lifesteal. Anything that keeps you alive longer is a good thing.

Chill dude, no need to be so aggressive. I assumed Blizzard's own stat site would be more accurate than diabloprogress, that's all. (That's assuming diabloprogress isn't owned by Blizzard, of which I'm not certain.)
