Even though it was the easiest stage there is just something nostalgic about Tristram and the rogue camp and the sisterhood of the sightless eye which makes it my favorite. The humor throughout the game when gossiping with all the NPC’s is classic in all the acts except IV of course. The sightless eye see's all, except for the sisters getting chased out of the monastery HA!
Damn, such a simple but yet insanely hard question. Each act was so unique and different, each with a totally different feel with the different musics and backstories and quest types...
This is going to require some serious thinking here haha
*ponders*
I like the music in that act the most, compared to the others (I like all of the music in the game, but that of Act I is my favorite). It lends a melancholy feel to the outdoor environments. And the Act I Rogue merc is my merc of choice through to the endgame of Act V.
Yes, Act 1 does have a kind of malaise to it that's very satisfying to immerse yourself in. It didn't quite feel like Tristram, but it had strong Tristram overtones to it.
I actually voted Act 5 just because of it sheer cinematic quality. I love the music and by the time you reach Harrogath, it really feels like you're nearing the end of an era. As if you can sense that people way of life is going to be changing soon. Also, just because of the Nihlathak quest that I always thought was so incredibly executed.
I see few people actually say Act 3 is the best. From a multiplayer/ladder point of view, Act 2 is the most annoying just because it takes the longest to rush through. And Maggot Lair, ugh....
I was debating whether Act 1 or 5. They are my two favorite... I love Act 1 because it always reminds me of the first time I played Diablo and I love the quests there, but Act 5 because I've spent so much time there due to lvling and such. I just love the town of Harrogath.
I would have to say that Act 3 is my least favorite in general just because I find it feels... unpolished... I dont know how to explain it but just like blizzard didnt spend enough time on it compared to the other acts. It just doesnt attract my attention like the other acts do. Anyone feel this way about it too?
Act 5 had the quests with the best rewards: socketing, rare class specific items, runes, + to resistances etc. I also lke the environement, well maybe not the blinding bright snow of the plains...
add me if you want to^^

I'm gonna put my highrune in your socket
flyarion, flyarion_third, flyarion_fourth, flyarion_fifth
Act 1 - Game just started it is already awesome, bloodraven is fun and andariel is kick ass!
Act 2 - Duriel is a huge pain (Hence his name :D) Hated the dung beatles. THe only thing I liked was the summoner quest.
Act 3 - The only act I truly hate. Other then fighting Mephisto, it was all crap in my opinion
Act 4 - 1 word - Diablo
Act 5 - I really didnt care all that much for this act accept for thw world stone chamber+baal. and Nihlathak or however its spelled.

I am not a fan of Jazz music.
on a good day.... Optimistic and freedom-loving Jovial
and good-humored Honest and straightforward
Intellectual and philosophical
On a bad day.... Blindly optimistic and careless
Irresponsible and superficial Tactless and restless
Act 1 is my fav.....I always think about it when I remember D2.....so many memorable moments....well not really but for me at least :P.........act 4 is a close second since it was so amazing first time you saw it.....third for me is act 5...so epic..........act 2 and 3 need to go die somewhere there brutally long and boring
Kurast is by far the worst it takes forever to get anywhere and there is so many dead ends plus the durance of hate was just a giant maze took forever to get anywhere

Durance wasn't always that big.
I think people are too hard on Act 3 though. It feels so authentic. Especially when you get to Kurast and Travincal. I really like the look of the city.
And Fetishes can actually be fun to kill if you have a mass killing method.
This is going to require some serious thinking here haha

True but my wife hates it when I fight Baal, she thinks he sounds like a pansy when he dies.
i always said i hated acts 2 and 3 because of all the pre-req quests that took forever. (really long rushes)
but for single player i think they were quite fun. and act 2 won out because i thought it looked amazing.
