Hi. My DH died to act 2 key warden last night on torment level 1. I assumed it was a bug on the reflect dmg because i have played this DH since December of 2012 and she was one of the first few paragon 100 DH in HC. In other word, I know my DH very well. my DH had about 120k hp and 2mil toughness. My DH was barely taking any dmg from any monsters on torment 1 since patch 2.0.1 ( include boss mobs). however, I did not expect she got 1 shot by act2 key warden last night from full hp to dead . Today, I woke up and saw the hotfix on act 2 key wardens reflect dmg. Now, I know my DH died to this bug. Is it possible for blizzard to revive my DH?
I really doubt they will do a rollback. Lucky for me, I ran into the bug on softcore first. That way I knew it existed and stayed away from Act 2 Keywarden completely until it was fixed.
Fortunately, Paragon levels are now account wide so you shouldn't lose much in that department.
Sorry mate. There used to be a way to revive dead HC characters in Diablo 3 because of server lag or bugs, but they removed this feature because people misused the feature dishonestly. There is no way of retrieving a dead HC character any longer, and they probably won't allow it ever again either.
You've played hardcore (at least on Diablo 3) for longer than I have, so I am sure you know, but in case you don't, you should consider a DC proof character build. It's a build stacking lots of toughness and life per second because it is the safest stat against disconnection orasynchronism. Try looking them up! People also did it in Diablo 2, back then we got equally as much (actually more so than nowadays) lag.
thanks for all the replies. I don't mind making a new character anytime that I lost a character. If this was a known bug, I would even bother to try to do act2 key warden. Also, thanks to bullerick, thank you for the info. Yea, I've build my DH pretty much DC proof since patch 2.0.1. like I said, torment 1 monsters barely do any dmg to my DH. There's literally nothing we can do when a stupid bug That 1 shots you.
I don't believe it's a bug, and it's not so much the Keywarden 1-shotting, as it's you 1-shotting yourself. When Dune Dervish mobs begin their spinning attack, they will reflect all projectiles back at their caster. If you're blitzing the Keywarden with Bolas, or Rapidfire, or any other high-damage attack (especially if you're well geared and very powerful), you will deal incredible damage to yourself, very quickly. I've lost DH this way as well.
I've died on my wizard to it, but that's because my familiar caused my death as when he spins, he reflects ALL projectiles. Only takes a few shots to cause your own death.
