Just like every time a similar issue rises, people call for bans on everyone. I don't think anyone should be banned but i do think that streamers should not do this stuff on stream and if they do, more than once would be totally lame in my opinion.
Don't blame exploiters - blame developers instead. When you find a way to fuck the system, you're stupid not to use it.
Which is why developers generally issue temp or permanent bans for people who exploit bugs. If they didn't, it would send the message "exploit early and exploit often, before it gets fixed".
what would stop this 100 % is 1 single round of ban hammering away.. simply take all the people who has been using this (do a zone registry and see who has gained massive amounts of exp in town) then ban them.. then lets see how many will actually use the next "exploit" found!
it only needs to happen once.. then lets see how big the "balls" on the exploiters are..
lmao
seriously? do you have any idea how many people have been banned for botting? not just in this game but WoW also. do you even realise how prevalent it still is? honestly people DON'T learn. with every new exploit or cheat there will ALWAYS be a wave of new fresh people willing to give it a shot
first of all, botting and exploiting is not the same ! botting is a series of mechanisms, not controlled by you, made to perform a certain task.. exploiting is using a flaw/bug in the game, to gain maximum advantage for your self, dispite the outcome of the community/game.
hmm, do you understand that there is no value in d3, there is no market to sell items, like there is in wow.. there is a big difference between loosing a bot account which you have nothing on, who only makes revenue vs loosing your account you play on.. a ban in d3 is worth so much more then one in world of warcraft.. But yeah, lets say they ban 100 people, out of thoose, 25 will quit the game and the remaining will buy a new account.. then we allready removed 25 % of the idiots.. only 75 % to go.. and thoose 75 people will have to start all over !
but as u say, every exploit there will be a wave of people doing it, and then we will ban a wave of people.. i dont get where u want to go with your post.. i see a point in banning them, every time.. its the only way they will learn.. if you dont think so thats fair enough, but im not gonna discuss it this is my oppinion and what i would like to see happen
You missed the point entirely, you are saying it would take 1 round of bans to stop the problem and everyone would be too scared to do it. it doesn't matter if its bots or exploits, MY point is they have done this many times in WoW and even D3 yet it continues.

so they should not be banned, but abusing an exploit ? Well fuck me...
they choose to exploit, no1 forces them... so yes, a ban is the only acceptable solution.. they are doing something in which they SIGNED THE LUA - u eve have to click it TWICE for acceptance! they allready said yes to not doing things like theese...
I'm not really sure if it technically counts as an exploit such as what is dsecribed in the eula. It exists in the game so as far as the user is concerned he can claim that he did not know that this is not the proper use of the game mechanics... Hell, one could even claim that he didn't know it was happening while he was waiting. If it required you to load up some 3rd party program or edit some game files or delibirately create lag in order to make certain things happen then it would have justified a ban right away. If Blizzard would have banned people for every time such an exploit arised, there wouldn't be any streamers left and many players would have quit too. Like 90% of the community was exploiting cursed chests in 2.0 and it took Blizz like a week to fix those...
Just calm down dude, no one should get banned and no one will. I agree that streamers shouldn't advertise exploits and if anything, that should be a bannable offense but to call out for the ban of whoever uses the flavor of the week exploit is just silly on your part.
Man, I'm torn. I don't want to do this because it's an exploit, and I don't have a group, but I really would like having a ton more paragon levels and would hate to miss out on something like this if they don't do anything to people who abused it.
Sorry, we do not allow people to spread exploits here. It is against the Blizzard Terms of Service.
Also, the proper way to make the devs know of the issue is not by having everyone do it (even though that works), but by sending notice to them. Even something as simple as a tweet to a Community Manager (like Nevalistis) should work.
sent them an eail 4 weeks ago and its still available. was trying for something more...drastic

boting and exploiting is not same. when u bot its clear that u break rules. while exploiting is not always so black and white
i agree with that. There are cases where it's not really clear whether it's an exploit or intended. For example followers with unity. The followers should take damage, but be unable to die. I'm pretty sure this "double your toughness" thing was not intended by the devs and who knows, someday they might change it.
But this here is not so unclear. You get absurd amount of exp in town. It could happen that you stumble upon it by accident, but not again and again and again. Everybody should know that something is off, when you get so much exp while standing in a safe area.
Dude you know that strafe jumping was not intended by Quake developers and because of that Quake was basis of one of the most competetive and beautiful games all around movement and "parkour" called Defrag? There are unintended mechanics and exploit and some people don't see difference.
i feel really bad for some of the people in my clan, who is 300+para or 350+ para.. all their honest hard work for paragon levels, ruined..
Without getting into is exploiting = cheating and whether it deserves bans or not, I don't get one thing
How does someone else getting paragon levels fast ruin all the hard work of your friends?
if not for this topic you would not know the op existed, much less know how many paragon levels he has and how long it took him to get them?
The exploit method has been removed by the mods on diablofans. for those interested, someone posted it under ''general discussion'' on official forums at www.diablo3.com
Gabynator started seasons like 3 days ago from what i've seen on his stream. and he got paragon 300+ in a day. same for Kongor, he is almost paragon 500 on ladder

Gabynator got like ~250 levels in 1day and a half, imagine that
Yeah at least he admitted tht he's using the exploit.. Seems like my post paid out after all. Streamer saw my post, using it, now everyone will be using it. incoming fix in less than 2 days. Exactly what I wanted
sadly this is the method to get a fast fix these days.. emailing blizzard or sending a tweet will never work. people need to use it for it to be fix fast
you guys should watch Kongor... using the exploit at it's best.. and blaming his dog for it
It's one thing to feign ignorance, but if you admit doing it you have no excuse to blame it on anything. I'd be willing to say he was just joking around. That sounds more like what kongor would do. I don't think he'd try blaming it on anything when he is openly doing it.

Sending email to Blizzard did nothing in 4 weeks. Sharing it here got it fixed in 6 hours. I understand the OP.
Yeah it is flavor of the week because every time a patch comes out there are certain exploits that only surfaces days to weeks after release.
I feel sorry for whoever thought they could compete for plvl in a legit manner...
I agree with you that it sucks but it's impossible to ban everyone everytime such an exploit becomes known.
If anything should be bannable it's streamers who keep on exploiting and advertising over and over. But to ban whoever was gaining a lot of xp while being in town is just crazy imo.

And there is only one thing we say to Death. Not today.

Not fixed yet, still work
