Hey guys im not sure if any has posted this before but Kripparrian has also created a Budget geared char and is attempting to clear inferno with it.
On Wednesday night's stream he went and bought all his items and last night he got to Act3 Heart of sin-Spiderbossladymajigger. So far he has skipped no Champion packs(even tho he had to use the "game mechanics" to his advantage once ) and has died about 13 times.
Its been great to watch and to see that its actually possible to be able to clear with such cheap gear.
I think most if not all of us have struggled or hit a wall at some point while playing D3 trying to get strong enough for progression so the Youtube vid might be useful to some of you who struggle to make some enough money to buy gear you think might help you get further.
Mmm seems like I cannot post URLs yet :/
just search for Kripparrian on Google or maybe some of the other Forumpplz could help me out
I'm no expert at this game but I can give you a few tips on how to get enough money or at the least get started on farming.
1: If you are struggling in act1 Inferno try and do a few act3 Hell runs for some cash and buy cheap Res all gear.
2: If you are under geared or feel like it takes you too long to do warden/butcher runs, join public games. Nice way to find people with similar in mind and possibly a few new friends
3: Take your time, world first have been taken so don't rush it. When you see people saying inferno is too easy just ignore them and play the way you want.
4: Search the web and find some builds for your class then try and change them to your play style.
5: I know its kinda depressing to trying to get newer or better items but not being able to find them on the AH for a reasonable price. Just keep farming and check the AH once or twice a day and set a target on how many "good items" you want to buy at a time.
6: You've heard about goblin farming and the nice items you can get for next to no risk but believe me there is a risk, of DYING from boredom. If you have the patience go for it else I suggest just keep farming.
Unless you have a lot of friends who play all the different classes or you have at least a few of them at lvl 60, you'll have no idea what items will be "worth" on the AH.
1: In act1 you can get a wide arrange of drops, these are all sorted by iLvL ( item level). ilvl63 being the highest possible atm those items would be consider better than normal and most of them are good items too. When farming act1 pick up all the blues and rares you find and try not to change your skills mid way through. I always get bad blues so I just end up vendoring them for a few extra gold, bad ilvl61 -63 items can most of the time be worth more if you salvage them and sell the essence on the AH.
2: If you get lucky you might become an instant milionare but most of the time the items you pick up are mediocre but are still worth something to someone. Most of the items I pick up (if they are any good) I just put them up on the AH for 30-50k each. This insures a quick sale and a steady stream of income while farming.
3: Life on hit is a very nice stat atm and worth a lot. Weapons with 600+ Loh atm are priced from 300k upwards and good rings with 200LoH can be expensive aswell. When you get 400+ LOH on an amulet plus mainstat and crit (dmg or chance), thats an instant 400k + in your gold stash.
4: Attack speed was nerfed(the stat was reduced by 50% on all items except quivers) bad so don't try and make money off items with just attack speed and mainstat.
5: You are level 60 now so you don't need the items NOW, when you see items with a high buyout price, check the bidding price. Ive won so many nice items just from bidding and getting them for cheaper than their buyout price its crazy
6: You found a nice item with 100+ vit 50 res all and 2/3 sockets? Cool! put some stat( str, int, dex) gems in them before selling them on the AH and their worth increases.
Note: As I said, I am no expert and my engrish isn't spectacular so please try to add some more tips for other people who are struggling and forget about my bad grammar and spelling
Been lurking the site for a while now, First Post
For the challenge alone, sure it could be fun to try clearing inferno with < 1m gear, but its not very efficient. You buy ultra defensive cheap gear and then bash the mobs for a few minutes each.
But it has been done before a couple of weeks ago by another streamer. Atleast he did something similar with his barb. He called it "the million gold challenge"
It can be found on youtube.
I think he did it pre 1.0.3 so that 1mil is almost 3mil now, a lot of people are doing this atm and its not about who is doing it the best but what you can learn from it

If you have followed the AH prices you will notice that medicore items are worth jack shit now and only really good items rise in price. If you want to compare it with AH his gear is propably only worth 200k now.
There is a stream on twitch currently where some monk cleared act 2(maybe more i dont know) with gear worth a total of 200k.
Anyway what is the purpose of this post? To promote krip?
Sigh prolly should have use better wording but the reason behind this post is that I also had trouble getting geared and couldn't find nice items for cheap. I know other people are also struggling so I wanted to make a post that could help them in some way.

Then again I could be wrong, but this is what I've heard from people so far.
I think he did it pre 1.0.3 so that 1mil is almost 3mil now, a lot of people are doing this atm and its not about who is doing it the best but what you can learn from it
umad because you don't have a master?
It is possible you just have to wade through alot more crappy items
But then it would just end with me saying.
Go kill champs elites bosses.
Thank you for your contribution, I'm sure someone will find it useful.
