Now that season 7 is behind us and season 8 is about to start, I wanted to start another thread to get people's opinions on the best classes to use for getting that stash tab. I know there is already a post about which class everyone is starting with, but I decided to create a different thread since some people like to start with a fast farming class first and use that to gear up their main class later. This thread is about which classes will be best for getting the stash tab the fastest.
Once again, it all boils down to the conquests.
Boss Mode -- Kill a set of bosses on Torment X in 20 minutes or less (must participate in each boss fight if in a group)
Curses! -- Kill 350 or more monsters in a Cursed Chest event at level 70 on Torment X
Years of War -- Reach Greater Rift 55 Solo with the bonuses of 6 class sets
Masters of the Universe -- Master 8 set dungeons.
Divinity -- Reach Greater Rift 75 solo.
So with that out of the way, I'll give my thoughts on each conquest and then I hope others can weigh in.
Boss Mode -- Bagstone has already written an excellent guide for this one, and I can't add anything to it. Basically, an Angry Chicken WD would be the best class to solo this, but any group that has good mobility and coordination could do this. I managed to do this conquest in a three person party in a prior season with an Angry Chicken WD, a Raekor Barb, and a perma-horse crusader.
#######
Curses! -- The easy way to clear this is to find the Cursed Peat bounty that appears in Act V. The problem is that this bounty only rarely spawns. A WoL Monk or a UE DH should be able to solo this; any other class will probably want to bring a group along to help. If you happen upon this bounty and can bring some friends or randoms along, it should be an easy conquest, but since getting the bounty is a matter of luck, I wouldn't necessarily count on this one. That said, I know others have managed to get this conquest from other chests, but the Cursed Peat is by far the easiest way.
#######
Years of War -- This may be the closest thing to a "freebie" conquest we have this season since they removed the "Level 3 gems to 65" conquest. Anybody can do this one with any two classes; it just takes time.
#######
Masters of the Universe -- Let it be said that I despise set dungeons. I earned the dragon wings back in season 5, and I still hate set dungeons. Fortunately, every class has one or two set dungeons that are either trivial or at least easy with the right gear.
Barb -- IK (easiest), Raekor (almost as easy)
Crusader -- Invokers (almost easy enough to master by accident)
WD -- Arachyrs (easiest), Zunimassa (easy with the Wilken's Reach mojo)
Wizard -- Tal Rasha (easiest)
DH -- Natalya (easiest with the right gear), M6 (easy if you can avoid the rock worms),
Monk -- Inna's (easiest)
*I'll also say that Firebird was easy as long as you had the ice damage immunity amulet and your sheet damage and sheet toughness fell within a certain range, but they've reworked that set so many times that I don't know how it would be now.
There are other set dungeons in each class that aren't too hard as long as you have someone else there to help clear the dungeon for mastery once you finish your objectives. Among these, I'd count MOTE (Barb), Vyrs (Wizard), Rainment (Monk), and UE (DH, but only easy if the helper is someone who can help pull/group the spiders together for your multishot)
The hardest dungeons for each class, with or without help, are probably Rolands or Akkhans (Crusader), Wastes (Barb), Jade (WD), DMO (Wizard), UE (DH), and Uliana (Monk).
Do keep in mind that I'm working off of memory from season 5, and I know they have nerfed some of the dungeons since then, but I'm pretty confident of my list of easiest dungeons to solo. Basically, everyone can do this one, but it will probably take an even greater time investment than Years of War to build up a few classes and master as many set dungeons as you can with each class. With patience and available help, you could finish this one with only two classes, but if you have to solo it all, you may want to build up 3-5 classes and tackle the dungeons that you find easier.
#########
Divinity -- I've never cleared higher than GR 73 as a ~800 Paragon HT WD, so I don't know much about this one. I know any class can do it, but the paragon, gear quality, and skill requirement probably differ from class to class. For those who have soloed GR75 and higher, which classes/builds have the easiest time of it (including the difficulty of finding the right gear and the skill needed in the rift), and approximately how much paragon and Caldesaans augmentation is required to do it?
#############
As for me, right now I'm thinking of going WD again. Arachyrs kind of sucks as a starter set, but then again, all of the starter sets this season are mediocre at best, and it will get one free set dungeon out of the way. HT made the season 6 and 7 journeys a joke. Angry Chicken will help with speed farming and the boss rush if I go that route and can put together a decent group. If I go for a second class, it might be DH, since I think Demon Hunters have, overall, easier set dungeons than the other classes. I'd love to stumble upon the Cursed Peat bounty, clear the Curses! conquest, and then put together a group to finish Boss Mode, but somehow I suspect that I'll wind up building up three or four classes this season to do Years of War and Masters of the Universe instead.
So after all that wall of text and season journey conquest information, what are your thoughts? Which classes will you be using for the season 8 conquests, and why?
