It is so damn obvious. WoW is all over Diablo 3.
Just ask yourself: how the **** is it possible that Diablo's loyal fanbase has been split in 2 groups?
Because they put the WoW AIDS in it that's ****ing why.
As for you, I played diablo a lot more than I did wow but the thing that your missing here is the art isn't exactly ripped from WoW, ohnoes it's 3d it's like wow. Maybe if you spent less time on the forums and more time actually trying to be informed we'd be able to have a proper conversation instead of you thinking avoiding the question will make you right.

Dumb reversed psychologics don't work on smart people, your moronity is wasted here. Bye.
Theres no need for me to really expand on this beside quote it. rofl.
Let the artists do their work. This community is so sad right now, squabbling over petty things (when keep in mind, you have only seen TWO environments) and kicking gratitude/excitement to the curb.
I personally don't want a major graphic engine overhaul. When you guys complain because the game doesn't release until 2010, remember its because you forced them to scrap the original.
D2 environments were hand drawn, thus allowing them to have max detail.
When you put things in 3d, it's a different story, all about polygon count. If you want circular candles that bad, that's cool, but most gamers would probably prefer to be able to play D3 on current hardware.
Furthermore, the game is pre alpha, lots of modeling/animation/design work will be done.
edit: It actually isn't the original Dopple, but it is the first one shown to us. That was my point.
Well your point is moot seeing that this infact is not the original, i wonder how the original D3 looked like, i assume much more in the style of Diablo.
Reading comprehension. My point is not moot because if they had to scrap this version, then we would still loose time. Or did you just skimread over that?

Careful now, you almost made me whip out psychologics & burninating.
To me
that really looks nothing like what we've seen in d3.
Ok, may not be the best of examples, but I don't have TQ installed right now to take a better comparison. While D3 is darker than TQ in the screen (and overall, actually), it looks just too similar, as in, too little grittiness.
Unfortunately it doesn't look anything like Diablo either, guess we're both fucked, me as a Diablo fan and you as a WoW fanboy.
See, I haven't played wow for about a year and half now and actually played diablo more than that and actually enjoyed diablo 10 fold more, even hellfire was a great addition. It's YOU that's the fanboy here, others are just using logic. Yes logic, not "psychologics & burninating."

Since when did I say I was a WoW fanboi?
All I have said is that the current design is fine, looks NOTHING like WoW, which is GOOD, (once again, reading comprehension) and that all this complaining is just going to push back the release date of the game.
Are you on steroids because I am sensin some RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.
I'm not the one infamiliar with the internet lingo "burninating", thats your friend. If you have nothing more then trying show off your pathetic sized e-penis, well good luck to ya, you'll need it.
It can be added to the list of his awesome English skills. "psychologics & burninating." while trying to abuse everyone who disagrees with him.
Zellogs, I thought you were against this type of useless banter which degrades a threads importance?
Also, before I knew there was an alternative (in other words; before I saw these pictures; while I was watching the game play footage), even though I thought it was amazing and couldn't stifle audible approval, I was reminded of when I created an undead character and went out to level for the first time ever. I played with the camera zoomed out as far as possible and, in retrospect, the color scheme/character models (sort of) resembled what Diablo 3 looks like now.
Liking the graphics is one thing, discounting what is evident is another. It definitely has an atmosphere that is slightly comparable to WoW (Diablo 3 is still, way better looking in my opinion) (Edit: the WoW picture is not mine):

The WoW screenie was taken in Shadowfang keep, which is supposed to have a creepy gothic atmosphere, probably even drew inspirations from Diablo. . Go to ZF or Zangamarsh or Westfall or Deadmines and you will see drastically different settings. It's part of an MMO.
As I wasn't too familiar with the first two games (familiar enough to know what I'm talking about, though), I found the game to look gorgeous. I really liked what they were doing with the art style of Diablo III, with the departure from 2.5D to yet another form of 2.5D- 3D that looks almost 2D (instead of the other way around). Not in a bad way, or even a Paper Mario way- that tree found inbetween the entrance to the dungeon and waterfall is a perfect example of how beautifully done it was. But I'm going to go ahead and guess that what people want to see are nitty gritty, more darker atmosphere. Well, that shouldn't be too difficult to change. If I remember right, WarCraft III came with the option of changing the lighting; I'm pretty sure they'll add that feature with Diablo III as well.
Then again, what with the large-scale debates going on, that's probably not what they're looking for either.
What I'm curious about is why the magic orb changed from turqoise to blue when the lead character switched from barbarian to witch doctor.

Let it be known I introduced that picture to the forum in the other thread. >

EDIT: Damn that second image is large
Yeah i saw it and it was too good just to let go.

You don't get around the internet much, do you?
Why would you bring my penis into this?

Example: Not even remotely close.
In short, a lot of games come in close to looking near to each other even if they are made by entirely different companies.
