As much as i hate to say it, we wont see diablo 3 until WoW dies down, theres no money in it for them to split their resources on it right now, hell it might even be done or close but we wont see it until WoW gets downgraded to fewer serves and they rake in less income off it, then they can release diablo 3 switch most their tech support over leaving minimum amount of workers maintaining WoW servers while pretty much maintaining their cash flow, especially since theyre releasing another expansion for WoW that will push it back a ways, however once it finally does get released i hope its nothing like WoW, a huge boring grind for equipment the next expansion comes out everything you grinded for became instantly worthless 5 levels higher means you slaughter 5 levels lower means you get ownd, comon, thats stupid, i hope they diversify diablo 3 a little bit more and do a better job on it
I have to disagree, Blizzard has 3 different teams, one team working on SC2, one working on WoW, and the other, Team 3, is so far "unannounced", but i tend to believe its Diablo 3. While there are factors that can affect the production of another team, they work seperatly. Just because they announced the WoW Expansion, doesnt mean its pushing Diablo 3 back, it will come when its ready, but not before then. Blizzard has a reputation to keep up with, and there not going to release a game before its ready.
They would benifit financially by releasing Diablo 3, it would create competition within the company, some users may switch from WoW to Diablo 3, but Blizzard isnt losing those customers. Its offering them an alternate game, which will appeal to others whether or not the already play a Blizzard game.
I agree that Diablo 3 will have to be much better than WoW to impress the Diablo community, and i think thats why its taking so long, Blizzard wants to make sure everything is perfect before they announce and release Diablo 3. Its a huge part of their company, and has so many fans expecting so much from it, they are not going to jump the gun, and release it too early.
I, for one, think that the next Diablo game should be as similar to World of Warcraft as possible.
Imagine, if you will, a group of young heroes working together to take out a huge, better looking, Andarial or Diablo? That is exciting.
Also, I like the WoW setup, for the most part. I love the gear grind as well as the the instances and story arcs. The thing that makes me amd is the level times. For somebody who is not a hardcore gamer (myself) it takes months and months to even have a medicore class character. It needs to eb suited for both types of characters, imo.
look just because blizzard comes out with diablo 3 I really dont know if its going to affect wow sales for that matter other companys come out with games... just like blizzard does just becase they have wow doesent mean they own the world of gaming there are alot of people that dont play wow just because of the monthly fee and play games like Diablo 2 or guild wars... in fact diablo 3 would bring in the buissness they dont have from wow making them an even stronger company... Just remember blizzard isent the only gaming company and they still have competition in the gameing world of games without monthly fees.

It depends on what you mean by "as similar to World of Warcraft as possible." I personally dont like World of Warcraft, there are some very good things they added, which could be implemented into Diablo 3, but to say it should be as similar as possible, i just think is wrong.
In my opinion, they need to stick with the traditional Diablo and Diablo 2 as much as possible. Diablo 3 needs to be a true hack'n slash at heart, they can add a bunch of extras ontop of that, but its essence must be true to what Diablo really is.
I think it will be an mmorpg though because they said they are working on one... and its not wow or sc, so who knows? The mystery behind it all could mean another title but I think the fans speak louder than that.. To start something completly new is a bit risky especially when it comes to a long awaited title.

Yeah, it may be risky, but the've made so much money on WoW, and will continue to do so. They can take a risk like this if they want. Heck, going from RTS to MMO was a risk, and look where thats gotten them.
I hope blizzard just does a good job with it weather its mmorpg or like the its predasesors, I hope its a kick ass game that stays true to the story... mmorpg is cool because you always get new content added which is the cool thing about it the thing d2 lod lacks now is new content being added on a continual basis thats the reason I like mmorpgs but I dont like the monthly payment. but its all good I wouldent mind paying for a really kick ass game.
WoW was heavily influenced by diablo, and if diablo is heavily influenced by the concepts aside from the lore and the graphics, i think it would be awesome. i love the diablo interface, and i also love the WoW interface. in all, its all good, and there are few routes diablo can take in which i would mind.
yeah i played the 10 day free trial of wow, I dident like it becuase of the graphics. to me thats a big part of the game, I will play a game because of the graphics... I was majoring in computer animation... but I like programing more so its computer science for me. but I could tell they took alot from diablo

Haha. I really did laugh here. Anyways, I do stand by my statement about it being similar to World of Warcraft. I like the feel of it, from it's character setup to it's dungeon layouts, but I very much agree that any Diablo title needs to be darker and more Hellish in nature.
I think though, when it's all said and done, that a MMO would be the way to go. After all, MMOs have been known to shock and awe, and with Diablo as the frontman it can't go wrong.
if diablo 3 is an mmo, you'll take what you get. and maybe you can all get a pleasure of taking customers away from WoW.
Why would I want to do that? More money equals better maintainance on their games... sorry I can't spell that. Personally, I don't want it to be an MMO because I can't pay 15 bucks a month, stupid parents.

i agree with him in that diablo 3 should be VERY similar to WoW, but in terms of the feel and the graphics, it should be darker.
Well yeah that's part of the reason. WoW looks to comical and light... but I don't want an MMO. I would like one after Diablo 3 though.
