Am i drunk or is the density considerably worse in 2.4 ?
I played a Uliana monk last season. And when i speed farmed gr50 i usualy had packs of 30-40 mobs i blasted away. I spent about 3-4 min per 50 grift.
Now i havent changed a thing in my gear but i spend about 8-10 min per 50 rift now. I havent yet got a group of more than 20 mobs. Its usualy small groups of 4-6 mobs and they are spread far apart. It seems horrible. Largest groups are usualy elites. had zombie groups of 3-4 mobs. They used to come in the 10 and 15's
Blizzard moved the focus from the small mobs to elites - Elites are around 8% of your progress, whereas the amount that small mobs grant is about half of what it used to be. So pretty much you should just zerg for the elites.
Density is a bit odd, but yea, my few GRs I've done have had a lot fewer mobs now.
When I'm soloing, the density on trash is crap. As a dart doc it's hard to skip mobs until you find an elite, and when you do you are surrounded by mobs and affixes then you die. In groups it varies. We mostly run 80+, some maps have good density, some maps are just crap. Much easier to just run from elite to elite in groups tho.

i refuse to believe my rng is that bad.
I think you just got lucky to be honest, RNG is a cruel beast. (I have not noticed a real change in density).
I heard that mobs also don't follow as far as they use to. So rounding up large groups doesn't work as well.
