I've been seeing quite a bit of talk about builds to farm Death's Breath, but the twist here is that I play all 6 classes pretty much equally.
So I'm completely open to find whichever class & build can farm Death's Breath the fastest (presumable while wearing two pieces of Sage's set).
I see a lot of people asking for a DB farm build for a specific class, but I've never seen the question completely wide-open like this. If you could use any class, which would be the best at this?
I have a DH and a Monk and of those two the Monk is much better suited to farm DB. The Shenlong set pretty much works without other big set bonuses. In-geom lets you dash from one dead pack to another with zero cooldown. DH is only fast with Danettas and only deals damage with a full set equipped.
I would say you would get the most effiency by farming in groups. My DH just reached Paragon 400 and I can easily carry the load for another person.
So if you can farm with a friend take turns wearing Sages. You want to farm at least T8. T7 at a minimum to take advantage of the drop rates. Elite drop 100% with a chance for a second DB. The exception to this are monster's that always spawn. These would be specific yellows that are always in the same spot. Not sure why they don't drop DBs but I think it may have something to do with old coding that used to allow them to drop the retired crafting mats that were needed to craft legendary items in Vanilla and early RoS.
If you really want to maximize Death's Breath, you should consider wearing the Sage's set - in which case you can't wear any of the main 6 piece class sets (Raiment, Uliana's, Wastes, Helltooth, Roland's, and so on). On the other hand, DB are not an issue at a certain point anymore; usually souls and bounty materials for re-rolling items becomes the bottle neck in endgame gearing. DB is rather an issue in the beginning of the progress curve when you need a specific item, no matter the rolls.
I personally love the WW barb for farming T8+, but it's the opposite of what you want for DB farming: you're not really fast in killing elites, sometimes even skipping them or letting them die by rend or killed by party members following after you. You can't combine Wastes+Sage's set. And WW shines when you're actually picking up almost nothing - it makes the rifts incredibly fast if you just want the GR key and WW through everything. For DB farming, you'd probably be better off running as Raekor with In-Geom or IK (haven't looked into those builds this patch tho).
For monk, Uliana's is a lot of fun and quite fast even on T10. If you have enough damage you can even take In-Geom as one weapon to have a lot of Dashing Strike and less than 1 second CD on SSS; and it means you can skip CDR on gear. But - you're caught in the SSS animation and if mobs are spread out you might need two SSS (or CS). It's fun, but R6 is probably faster for T6 and better for DB farming (as you just dash from elite pack to elite pack). But R6 has the same problem as U6: you can't combine it with Sage's set. Therefore, the obvious "best choice" is the generator monk - if you like the playstyle. I'm not too keen on it ;-)
Haven't looked too much into the other classes, but it's basically the same: think about builds that combine (1) high mobility, (2) high burst damage to kill of elites, and (3) the ability to do that without the need for a 6 piece class sets on the 6 main slots (IK, Zuni, or Tal's are examples of 6 pieces class sets that *can* be combined with Sage's set).
I always couple DB farming with another task. I manajuma bounty farm but stop and kill every elite that I see in seconds with helltooth build (even though a sukwong equipped). I also farm them in TX with my Uliana monk. I do this when I need keys or want to farm DB. I haven't been in dire need for DB in a long time and I have 5 well equipped characters this season.

I think WD or DH would be fastest.
Barbs are pretty good as well.
Best I can get on my monk is around 400/hour. I've seen some DHs on reddit claiming 600/hour.

WD Angry Chicken build is quite fast. Nemesis gloves (cubed most likely) a must on any build.

What? Me worry?
