RIP soloplay, 2 full exp gear monks in every group incoming.
If anything this HELPS solo play not lag as far behind as it does now. Your only option in solo is to dps whereas a group typically has 1-2 leechers that were getting ~3 times more XP than the rest of the group. Those leechers get hundreds of extra paragons and then smash the leaderboards in solo. Now everybody in the group will be getting the bonus split so all the group players will still be ahead of solo, but not p1400 seasonal kind of ahead. Also a lot of people won't even want to play support anymore since you can just play dps and benefit from the split so you'll probably only see 1 support per group if any at all.

I'm saying that their decision destroys solo play even more. I don't mean solo leaderboards, but the entire game. Paragon levels are way too powerfull in D3 and Blizzard forces everyone to play in group, to gain benefit from retarded amount of exp in Greater Rifts. Amount of experience groups getting in Greater Rifts is like 10x more. Wanna be competitive in this game? Go play in group only.
Don't get me wrong, I think group play should be more rewarding, but not as much as it is right now

Also in Patch 2.3: Experience gains and bonuses are now averaged across all players in the group (this should now be in the PTR patch notes) - John Yang.
Good change.
