There is one serious problem with Multishot, and that problem are runes.
Arsenal rune is too powerful to even consider any other rune.
So we are getting Unhallowed Essence, but there will be no variety here, since only Fire with Arsenal rune will be viable.
Here are some ideas for other Multishot runes to bring them in line with Arsenal rune:
Fire at Will: damage type changes to Lightning, and Hatred cost reduces to 18.
rework 1: damage type changes to Lightning, and also releases 3 charged bolts for 300% damage as Lightning each. Hatred cost reduces to 18.
rework 2: damage type changes to Lightning, and also releases a chain lightning that jumps up to 3 times dealing 300% damage as Lightning to each enemy hit. Hatred cost reduces to 18.
Burst Fire: damage type changes to Cold, and releases an additional blast that damages enemies 15 yards in front of the Demon Hunter for 200% damage as Cold.
rework: damage type changes to Cold, and also throws a bomb that deals 450% damage as Cold in a 15 yard radius.
Suppression Fire: first two enemies hit are knocked back up to 20 yards.
rework: increases damage to 800% but narrows the attack area (30 degrees instead of 60). First two enemies hit are knocked back up to 20 yards.
Full Broadside: increases damage to 460%
rework: also throws 3 bombs that each deal 300% damage as Physical in a 10 yard radius.
And to bring grenades in line with rockets, here is a rework for Grenadier passive:
Grenadier (rework): Increases damage done with grenades by 75%, and their blast radius by 5 yards.
