So was pretty excited to create a Crusader as my main but its been a pretty underwhelming experience so far.
It feels a very broken and incomplete class. Its almost like Blizzard played it safe and didn't want to have the Crusader the OP class at launch. Their damage multipliers are terrible and anyone disagreeing clearly is not playing the same game or simply playing it on normal or just too estatic about the new class to even accept any criticisim regarding the class.
The class is simply in a terrible state. Their Wrath generators and spenders need to be redesigned and have their damage buffed to at least 25%-50% more and have them generate atleast 25%-50% more Wrath. Smite and Sweep Strike is bugged. Take Sweep Strike for example. It will do no damage if monsters are either on you or just ahead of you. That coupled with the ridiculous position requirements for all their attacks makes it even more frustrating. Shield Charge again only does damage to those monsters behind the main target.
There is simply no challenge right now when you simply standing in front of an elite banging your shield against the elite for over 5 mins literally tickling him. Their health bars don't drop quickly enough. I've also never had a more hard time when it comes to goblins that I am currently having on my Crusader. We are slow and just don't do enough damage to stop them from escaping through their portal.
So am wondering which other class is currently well equipped and designed for Reaper of Souls? And would appreciate the list in order.
How are Monks and Barbs? Have not really heard much about them after the launch?
when i was playing crusader up to lv 40, i was always feeling that something is missing in this class. didnt like it, i think mobile skills should be improved, or maybe some passive to increase a spead, paladin in d2 was crazy fast ! and the hammers were faster spreading, and there were more possibilities to play then just a hammerbuild, which i dont see, ofc skills are there but i just dont see the right combo to feel like paladin...
i dont know maybe its just me, but crusader dissapointed me. as overall skill content for all classess in ROS.
rerolled to barb -> problem solved ;-), still thinking to go for DEMON hunter, as i think he can do most dmg in the game.
It definitely plays different then the other classes. Not broken, but not as refined. I am still trying to find the right blend of it feeling responsive and doing acceptable dps.
The cooldown costs are long for the damage output they give, but I can live with it until they collect data and decide if it needs to be redressed. If no one else feels it is too excessive, I can live with it as just being a slower, less button-clicking class than the other 5 classes.
The mechanic where the Heavenly Strength passive is practically required to get close to the dps of the rest of your group (given the group is approximately the same paragon level and same mix of gear) is hard to stomach because you lost one passive slot just to correct your weak dps (Heavenly Strength) THEN you need to pour paragon points or use up 2-3 primary gear slots to improve your movement speed, and even then most crusaders are using one of their active slots for the steed, so they don't get left behind. To me, that part of the class that needs some tuning: I want to keep up with my group members and not feel I need more paragon points or better gear than them to be on par.
Wrath generation and spenders are awfull. Long CDs just don't fit in this kind of game especially with the difficulty in the higher levels.
Laws with a 45 sec CD is overkill. Steed Charge with 25 sec CD is nail on the coffin.
I need to play my crusader longer to get a feeling for it, but I totally agree with the cooldowns. No non-"panic button" skill (ie. Archon, WotB, etc.) should have a cooldown longer than 15 seconds. Panic skills should be no longer than 1 minute.

No class is "broken". But not every class is for everyone. If it doesn't feel good for you, pick another one, as simple as that :-)

Give it a chance. Also, CDR stat was probably introduced in the Expansion to help out the called out problems about cooldowns being too long.
