I recently got D3 for PS3. I have a brand new PS4 sitting here that I dont want to open, as D3 is the only game I play right now. I want to first confirm that I can indeed import my character and items etc from the PS3 version to the PS4 version. I have heard some say yes and some no, then some sources months ago saying yes before the PS4 was released. Now that its out, and people have their hands on it, can you import your stuff from PS3 to PS4?
Also in the future when ROS comes out for PS4 will your character and items transfer to that as well from D3?
Blizzard has stated that you will be able to transfer your characters from ps3 to ps4.. however with the RoS changes I suggest playing a crash character on the ps4 as it will be more enjoyable...
And no... not a chance. Ps4 version has the expansion included. Only similar game situation was Injustice... and that game released a comparable ultimate edition on ps3. Ps3 does not have the expansion yet, and may never get it... so there is no directly equivalent product to upgrade.
Yes... the ps4 version includes RoS. Additionally, some other features are rumored such as gifting stuff to your PSN friends (I don't believe specific items, but more a random item as sort of a toast for you getting a legendary), the ability to avenge the death of your friends by killing the mob that killed them, etc.
Confirmed features are RoS, touch pad integration, and the ability to remote play on the vita.
The details on the upgrade process haven't been officially announced.. but I expect your items and characters to transfer. It will probably require a thumb drive or a cloud PSN save to import.
As I understand it, the PS4 version of Diablo 3 is being billed as the "Ultimate Edition," or some nonsense like that, and will include D3V and RoS as one game. There is no separate D3V and RoS; just the combined one. Similar to XCOM: Enemy Unknown (the original) and XCOM: Enemy Within (the expansion), if you're familiar with those games. Enemy Within is a standalone disc that is just Enemy Unknown with the expansion content baked right in with no separation. You don't even need to have ever bought or played Enemy Unknown. So, they won't do the $10 upgrade because it's not the same game.
That said, you should be able to play your PS3 account in the PS4 version. I don't think it's separate for each character - you either use your PS3 save data (all of it) or you don't (none of it). So, it'll include your stash and stuff.
Sweet thanks guys. Yeah its weird because I was in the store the other day and the D3 cover for PS4 looks identical to the PS3 one, so I thought the expansion was not out yet.
Is there any word on another expansion or Diablo game in the future?
I gotta say I was a little disappointed on how short the game was, seemed to go very quick, if it wasnt for the online play I would of been super disappointed.
- The expansion isn't out yet, but neither is the PS4 version. It's possible we're wrong, and there will be both editions on the PS4, but stores do that sometimes as a placeholder until the official cover art is made available. Here's the Blizzard post on the Ultimate Evil edition: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/11502590/prepare-for-ultimate-evil-on-playstation®-4-11-8-2013
- A long time ago, someone found a leaked Blizzard company product timeline that mentioned a second D3 expansion, but that's nothing concrete. I wouldn't be surprised, however, as players are obviously hungry for more D3 content, even with RoS on the way.
- Did you play through Inferno difficulty, or just Normal?
These games have always been short for a single play through. The point of games like this is the replayability.
Most people on this site have sunk between 300-3000 hours into the pc version. Being married with kids.. I'm probably about 500-800 myself.
That's sort of the thing about Diablo is that it attracts the sort off nerds that play the game like it's a full time job... and those nerds are the ones that rage because "the game sucks" (aka they got bored of repeating the same thing for 800 hours straight). All the negative criticism had been pointed at max level play.. as < 60 play is fun.
Strange I thought it was already released for PS4?
Maybe your right that gameplay was short, but I seemed like I played Diablo I for weeks before beating it. Same with Diablo II. But this one it seems like I beat it in a weekend. I know with the levels it makes it easy to replay but I wish that each mode just had a LITTLE bit more content, even if it was one more map for each mode or at the very least new monsters. Instead of just making them stronger why not make them look more badass each mode and pop a few more in there.
Im not at inferno yet, just in Hell mode. I only play about 4 hours a week so I still find it exciting, but I'd love to discover new little areas or maps. When I first played normal mode I covered EVERY square inch of EVERY map before ever moving on. So now I just feel like I run from point A to point B rather then exploring which is the best part of diablo IMO.
PS the one thing I was really disappointed was is the music, Diablo I and Diablo II music was the BEST. Overall I still love the game hence me wanting to buy the PS4 version

Also do you guys know if the PS3 D3 > PS4 D3 has the $10 update deal?
Fresh * (Swype).

Sorry for my confusion here.
I heard the PS4 version of D3 has a few new features, but your saying it includes ROS? Or is that different?
Also when you transfer your characters do you get your items and items in your chest?
