Just wondering if all hopes of getting into the beta are lost if one is running a pirated version of windows. For example build 7600. Anyone have any experiences with a situation liek this in any other blizzard betas?
First off, the tool shows what information they collect. They only care about the version of windows, not whether or not it's legitimate.
Secondly, since they aren't Microsoft, why would they care? They want you to buy the game irregardless of the fact that you have a pirated version of windows.
I'd hazard a guess that it's probably even illegal for them to check, but I can't be certain.
I wonder if it's better to submit PC specs or Mac specs.
My PC is more powerful and is my main gaming rig, but it's kind of just another quasi-above-average PC. I use the Mac for work, and it's about average. Since only a small fraction of the people playing games use Macs, I wonder if the chance to be selected as a Mac tester is greater?

I was actually debating this and I feel their going to want enough of both systems in order to properly test. Don't take this as fact but my thought is if you can find a mac to submit system specs for you might have a greater chance at getting in. Heck you could even do it in an apple store!

i guess my real concern is with the version. its not exactly up to date...
slightly off topic, but I feel like it's an extremely stupid thing to be running a hacked version of something that EVERYTHING you run on your computer is dependent upon. Not to mention that the pirated version you have could be loaded with nice little root kits that are quietly sending your data to whomever that no anti-virus on the planet will be able to detect...
