I honestly think the game has evolved beyond the possiblity of this happening and I really hope it has if we have a real leveling experience and get to see more areas of the game it will make for a much richer experience. Alot of Diablo II went ignored because you could just rush a char to high level with one of the many methods Chaos runs baal runs Uber lvling etc. I think D3 has the potential to have a very rich leveling experience with friends I really hope to pick up the game with a few irl friends and start up a party and get to leveling and checking out the game world and looting together. I really hope Rushes and duping don't make it into Diablo 3 though I think the chance of it happening is slim to none. Cant wait to start tearing it up on my monk.
I think rushing is inevitable (Thank you Agent Smith :sorcerer: ).
What defines a rich experience is very much subjective but I think most agree that if the experience in itself is not cause of grief for others, it's even better(PK..... :whistling: ).
Among the dozens of D2 chars I made, I rushed...1 of them... It was the char I least played with and with whom I least enjoyed the game. So we are very much on the same wavelength as to what enjoying the game is.
However, as soon as competition settles in (ladder), the game takes on a new form. Rushing is part of the fun from what I gathered from my friends and getting to the top is what the experience is about.
This has no effect on my game, I don't really care about it. Rush if you want to. I'll play how I want to.
Duping is a whole another thing though...
I think a good solution to this would be something along the lines of phasing in WoW, where certain things don't show up until you've completed certain quests. Now I don't think they should force you to do every quest, as they don't want to make it so that its just an extremely long process every time, but they could have it so that you have to complete about half the quests in an act in order to move on. Like when you complete one quest, you can then go to an area and a new passageway has shown up, stuff like that. This way, you could still have higher level friends helping you out and kind of rushing you through, but at the same time you'd still have to go through the main storyline parts each time, and potentially other quests would be worth it depending on the rewards.
Well with current comps compared to 8 years ago and the fact that they kept the game style allowing it to run on a not to amazing system I think that will allow for a ton of content. Hopefully the PvP lives up to its expectations since that was preety much the main focus of D2 as endgame.

Alright in fairness, Blizzard didn't spend much time on ANY endgame... but at least LoD addressed this somewhat. I mean it's very reasonable to see ppl get bored of everything but PvP, but the latter was never a remotely serious focus on Blizzards part.

Best unintended content they ever created they have a thousand more tools at their disposal tons of experience working with WoW new battle.net and 8 years of feedback im preety confident in the game lasting who knows maybe they will keep adding content via patches like WoW.

Additional DLC, patches (more than 1) are highly likely.
Know why?
Here we are over a decade past D2's release...
We just got a new patch with more items, more shit...
So yes, most likely there will indeed be more content as time goes by after D3's release.
Blizzard is going to give us D3, and with its release they probably wont add anything for at least a year.
Besides any possible bugs...
