obvious after this! Watcha think?!
Great find! They just had to beat around the bush didn't they. But I'm pretty sure that's for Diablo III. Kind of odd that they'd be asking for an Environmental Artist this late in the development. I shouldn't say that, who knows how long it's been in the making.

One thing I want to know right now is, how far are they in development? I'm almost postive that they've been working on D3 for a while. But why, if they have been working on it, do they need a Lead 3D Environmental Artist now? It doesn't make much sense to me.
I really hope they announce it at Blizzcon, along with gameplay footage and screenies. Oh my dear Lord God (Silver), I would love them if they did that.

We're just going to throw another log on the fire at this point as Jonas Markusson spots a suspicious piece of blurred text at the foot of PCGamer's August issue. The issue is dominated by Starcraft 2 but you'll see some orange text below that's in its own wee feature box with some blue text above which could possibly read 'What happened to'. It's difficult to make out the rest. Sharpen the image in a graphic prog, squint a bit, stand at the back of the room on one leg and you can almost see Diablo 3. Whatever it is it's something they don't want anyone seeing before it hits the shelves in July. That's before Blizzcon however which is in August and there would be much more pomp if they were to announce it at their own event rather than through a press release. As Jonas says himself, it's a long shot and even if it does say Diablo 3, it's not going to be a confirmation because without a doubt it deserves much more coverage than an aside to SC2

I think Blizzard is just reminding all of us that Diablo is in the works, and it's not a forgotten franchise. Maybe they figured our hopes were let down when StarCraft II was announced (not mine).
But yeah, it does sound a bit far from completion if they still need a lead 3D artist. Perhaps the pre-production stuff is all done and now they are finally getting to the game and it's design.
Who knows but Blizzard, anyways?
*EDIT* - I just realized this job posting is over a year old...
ya thats what i though, early last year, they posted like 2-3 jobs for diablo and i think the lead 3d artist is part of those, so does that mean they still havent found a lead 3d artist??? thats what im worry, who is really behind the diablo 3 project?
Wow. Umm. I'm not sure what to say. Judging by how long the name is and if you stare at that little blurred spot for a while; It kind of looks like Diablo III. Seriously, I do not think I am tripping. LOOK! Their is a blurred "space" towards the end, and the "letter" on the left of the space kind of looks like an o, and the the object on the right of the space looks like it could be a III. I don't know though. I am probably getting way too ahead of myself here.

now thats encouraging. Even though it should still be in a very early stage of development, its better than to have it started right now.
