Today I present the first of several solo greater rift progression videos with the Firebird wizard based on my T6 speed farming build, starting with G33. These greater rifts are not cherry picked, although I think at higher difficulties map type, mob type, density, and shrines will play a major role in success. Enjoy!
I tried to write this over and over again, I even started a captains starlogg version to try to add some poor humor, but it was really poor humor and now we all get to read this instead.
I guess I just dont get it. Sorry.
I just dont see the point of this thread? this video?
These Firebird videos\threads\tutorials are everywhere, and the lower the grift lvl the more agony I feel.
ANY -decent- wiz spec can do lvl 33.
If you start from around grift lvl 38 and progress from there, you would attrackt a lot more interest. It would actualy possibly perhaps even be so interesting, that people who arent totaly new to diablo, -the new today 20th august kind of new- would watch it.
Is it just for the personal fanst? I dont get it.
These firebird threads are just like the magic missile threads. Every week some guy posts a 10 page thread with shitty indepth details that often was wrong guiding out and detailing how this amaaaasing totaly supernew spec he totaly supermadeup on his superown will allow you to cruuush t6. ok, exageration, point made by far.
Really. there is a ton of perfect posts telling everything about the spec, gear, playmethods of wizard, gear steps and alternatives and all that good juice. Many of them have been posted the last 2 weeks time.
Even the top sticky post on these wizard forums is a excellent guide for all of this firebird shannanigan..

Thanks for the ranty (rancid?) feedback. Any 'decent' wiz spec can't do 33. That's what gets me about comments like this, claims without any backup. As for G38, yes, that will be interesting, once I can handle it. It's as if a top 100 video with proof is soo easy anyone can do it, when in reality there's a reason it's top 100 - because less than 0.01% of the ENTIRE playerbase is capable of that. Getting a little spoiled, are we?
PS, G34 is up. It's generally the same as 33, until I hit the rift guardian and have to face Saxtris - one of the harder bosses for ranged classes because of the constant stream of adds and tornadoes. Enjoy!
Today I move on to G35 in the wizard solo greater rift progression series. Since the last video I spent some time grinding T6 to better my gear and it was worth it. The build remains unchanged and 35 was pretty easy, especially with my new and improved Furnace.
In this video I clear 35 with playstyle commentary and go over the gear, build, and paragon. Enjoy!
Mikhial, I generally like your videos but I kind of have to agree with that guy above - I dont see much point to this thread. If someone wanted to learn about the firebird's build just read Jaetch's guide on it.

The point is to show solo progression in greater rifts based on gear, various rift scenarios, and playstyle modifications. Just like I did with my T1 > T6 progression series videos, which help people gear out - often times quickly - to handle endgame content, people don't just jump in and do G40 their first try. It's a grind for everyone.
I have a specific video explaining the build, this is not it.
Today I move on to G36 in the wizard solo greater rift progression series. This one was a challenge, mainly due to the winding cave and very unfriendly mob types (definitely not a 'lucky' grift), but things picked up towards the end on the rift guardian with some favorable positioning.
In this video I clear 36 with playstyle commentary and go over the gear, build, and paragon. Enjoy!
Nice kill, that first floor was a lot harder than it looked. I got one similar today at 33 and died a lot. Those archers suck and the other mobs laugh at blackhole.
Today I move on to G37 in the wizard solo greater rift progression series. I had a decent semi-zombie level with slow elites for part of the rift, and even found a conduit (which was mostly wasted as there was little to kill and I had to go back for it), but I managed to clear it. Also check out the tip at the end on how to prevent Agnidox from using his fireball attack on you.
In this video I clear 37 and go over the build, gear, and paragon. Enjoy and stay tuned for G38 leaderboards!
PS. The commentary about the conduit is incorrect - it simply expired. I was sleep deprived and a little frustrated from the last few failed attempts.
Just watched the start of your GR 37 vid. I have to say that your movement is not very good. Instead of moving forward, you move always back. You could have killed the first two elite packs together while progressing through the rift and therefore be a lot faster. I think that you play not enough aggressively and loose precious time. Keep up your work and cu on the leaderboards

Yea it's something I need to work on - a result of sleep deprivation, playing every class so not really honing skills on a single one, and trying to provide commentary live. I'll get it though!
Hey guys, I'm back to greater rift grinding after a month long hiatus from the game. With the changes to greater rifts (density, respawning, pylons), I decided to switch gears from my gg Furnace and try out a decent Ancient crafted Devastator, Firebird source, and Cindercoat. While it's still not as good as a solid non-Ancient Furnace for higher grift tiers (low damage range for 3k ticks), it's definitely better for T6 and can handle 38 just fine. Enjoy and be on the lookout for 39!
PS. I forgot to go over the gear in the video, but it's the same as G37 except for Cindercoat, 2.6k Devastator with 10% RCR, and Firebird source.
Hey guys, today I want to show you G39 live. This was only my second attempt and after going for an Ancient Devastator/Firebird Source/Cindercoat combo for 38, I decided to try the 'original' again with a non-Ancient Furnace. Due to the higher damage range, it still beats out the 1h version, especially on the rift guardian. The downside is you lack the resource cost reduction so you can't freely spam Blizzard, but things die just as quick and the 3k ticks are a lot higher. The gear I'm using is identical to 37 - no Ancients. Enjoy!
Hey guys, today I pick up the Wizard progression series a few months later. I'm starting out where I left off - G40 with Firebird's, to see how far I can push it before it becomes problematic, at which point I'll switch to Tal Rasha's. During the rift I discuss some of the buffs, the difficulty of Delsere's, original Inferno 'immortal Wizard', and more. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
Hey guys, today I clear G41 with the old school Firebird's setup. I'll be switching to Tal Rasha's soon, but I'm still feeling a bit nostalgic about the 'easy' fire build. Nothing has changed from the last clear except for a ring swap with slightly better stats. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
Hey guys, today I clear G42 with the old school Firebird's setup. With the exception of a few gem ranks the build and gear remain unchanged from the last tier. It's slowing down a lot though, so for the next one I'll be switching to a non-season build variation of Tal Rasha's. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
Hey guys, today I clear G43 in my 'day 1' journey with the improved Tal Rasha's set. I'm liking it already - much faster clear than Firebird's, crazy single target damage with Nilfur's Boast, and an engaging rotation-based playstyle that's sure to keep you awake. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
