I'm an old player who just came back to play RoS and just got a decent ring.
I want to re-roll one of the stats on this new ring but not sure which one, I'm leaning towards attack speed but could do with some advice from more people. Since CM wizards are no more I assume I can sacrifice attack speed, or are there some special builds which would benefit from this?
Here are the stats:
Resist 87
Attack speed 6%
Crit damage 47%
Crit chance 5.5%
3226 Life on kill
CC reduction 20%
Re-roll all resist to intelligence. On jewelry+gloves you want as many damage stats as possible, and if you get int for the resist it'll be a perfect "quadfecta" ring.
I prefer all resist over attack speed. I'd say, there are only a few spells that profit from attack speed. For cooldown skills it's completely useless and for some high cost spenders, it doesn't help to empty your AP pool faster.
I don't understand why, especially if you're using channel spells, you wouldn't want attack speed. Attack speed makes channel spells channel more in less time.
i use arcane torrent and I have pretty decent attack speed....
To give everyone more info, this is a normal rare ring.I am currently an AT tanky channelling wiz, which is why I am considering losing the IAS.
I will be more specific now that people have given me their opinions, it seems to be between IAS or AR as I expected. I am kind of thinking long term on this ring rather then my immediate needs, unless of course there will be far superior ones to use.
@Bagstone thanks for that link, it was very informative!
I guess I have specific questions now.
Are channelling wizards especially tanky ones still viable in higher Torment levels and will AR be very important for survivability?
Channeling wizards are viable in higher Torment levels, yes. The wizard channeling spells allow you to keep some distant to the enemies, which makes it even better for higher Torment levels.
You definitely need a lot of AR and armor for higher Torment levels; however, a ring (in general jewelry and gloves) are not the slots where you want to stack these survivability stats.
I guess I can not answer any of those questions yet, my gear/build is still very much work in progress. Until then I have decided I will wait until I have more of my end game gear before I roll as this makes most sense.
Thanks for everyone's input, it's been most appreciated.

@Tybalt: IAS increases damage, but also increases AP cost. Overall, excessive IAS stacking is not a good choice for channeling spells. Do you want math? Here's math from the king of theorycrafting wizards himself: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-misc-forums/theorycrafting-and-analysis/86390-can-as-be-on-par-with-cc-cd?comment=19
For this ring though I'd reroll allres to int. ~400 int still give you 40 all resist, so you'd "only" lose about 50ish allres for a lot of damage.
