i love this thing, but i wish i could factor in my actual LOH and life per second, unless i'm not seeing it. Also since its for a wiz, i would like to know if there is a way to incorporate some kind of APoC slot. haha
I don't plan to include those stats in my spreadsheet because they don't contribute to DPS or EHP and they tend to only be found on a few items, so it should be easy enough to keep track of. If you want to have that information available in your spreadsheet you can always add a row for it on the equipped items page. I actually added rows for MF and Life Regen in the copy I use for my MF set, just so I can see what my total Life Regen and MF is without having to enter a game.
I just made a minor update, but one people probably were waiting for. I added paragon levels to the equipped items tab. I also added rows for MF and Life Regen in the same tab. I don't plan to include support for those stats in the item comparison tab because you can easily compare values between items, though if desired I could add a box displaying the equipped total like I did with DPS and EHP.
I'm guessing you're putting in the Attacks per Second (APS) first, then adding the +attack speed? The reason it reduces the dps is because it uses the +attack speed to calculate the actual base APS of the weapon, which it rounds to 1 decimal, and then calculates the actual APS. Sometimes the rounding will round up before you add the +attack speed (1.65 APS will round to 1.7) and then adding the +attack speed makes it closer to the value on the weapon (1.5 APS dagger with 10% IAS will have overall 1.65 APS exactly).
Another example, if you have a dagger with 9% IAS, it will show 1.64 APS on the tooltip, but it is actually 1.635. In this case the dps will go up once you add the IAS.
Hey there,
first of all - thank´s for your work :>
But i think there´s a little mistake with the intellect gain per paragon level:
It adds up 6 intellect per level instead of 3.
Yep, you're right, thanks. It was taking the value calculated in a previous sheet and adding the 3 int per Plvl to that, but the value already had the Plvl int added, so it was basically adding it twice. It has been corrected. As far as I can see, none of the other stats were treated that way.

It won't necessarily go up because the attacks per second you enter in the spreadsheet is supposed to be the value shown on the weapon tooltip. If you have a weapon with 1.3 APS with no attack speed, you get a certain dps. If you put 5 attack speed in the box, the spreadsheet divides that 1.3 APS by the new attack speed to calculate what the base attack speed should be on the weapon. In this case, you enter 5 and it reduces the base attack speed to 1.2, so it effectively lowers the weapon base attack speed, which is why the dps decreases.
You can think of it this way. The +attack speed value for weapons is more of an optional stat to put in for the calculations to match in game values more precisely. If you don't enter the +attack speed, the calculations are still good and sometimes the same. The only differences lie with the game rounding Attacks per second to 2 decimals in he tooltips but still using all decimals in calculations. If the actual attack speed is 1.635 the game uses that value to calculate dps but the tooltip only shows 1.64 so the spreadsheet uses the +attack speed to get the exact attacks per second value.
Hi !
First, thank you Loroese for your great work with this spreadsheet, I use it every playing day.
I have a feature request though. Could you add an input field for "Adds +X% to elem damage" ? These affixes are present on the Triumvirate source and other items.
Edit: just seen your Known Issues 3). I'll try to detail with what I know.
You need "Min +elem damage on weapon" and "Max +elem damage on weapon" fields to calculate the result. Substract those values from the weapon damage range so that you only take Physical damage into account ("Black damage") and other +dmg such as source, +dmg affixes. Apply the DPS formula to this damage range and then apply the +X% to elem damage, adding this result to the final DPS value.
I guess I should update the OP since I know the calculation for the pre 1.0.4 +x% ele damage affix. It was actually 2*x*[min damage], and didn't use the max damage for some reason.
I'm also not sure how the updated items work with the affixes. It might work the same but my guess is they changed them to only work on applicable abilities. In other words, I think the old ones were basically "Do +x% extra damage as elemental" while the new one is "your ELE spells do +x% more damage". If the latter is the case, my spreadsheet can probably give a good approximation using the already implemented "Bonus Damage %" boxes, but that's assuming the bonus damage stacks with buffs like Glass Cannon and Magic Weapon. Another possibility is they act as an overall multiplier instead of just adding to the bonus damage multiplier.
Unfortunately I do not have access to any of the new items with those affixes so I'm not sure yet how they work. If anyone does have access to one or more and would like to share some information, such as in game dps with and without it, along with other relavant stats (i.e., the basic stats needed to compute dps, don't really need every stat on every item, just the totals), I could probably figure out how it is working with the in game Damage Number at least. If I can get a clear idea of how they are working, I'll definitely add it to the spreadsheet or update the OP to mention how to include them.
Thanks for that information. I updated the spreadsheet today to include my first attempt at computing dps with these affixes. I'm reasonably sure the damage number calculation is the same as it was before the patch for these items, namely the extra damage is 2*total min physical damage*added elemental %, but since I do not have any items with the affix, I can't be completely sure. I tried the spreadsheet with an online profile that had an OH with some of the affixes and was able to match the profile dps to within a percent or so. As I said before, for the bonus damage to elemental skills affix, I'd say just put that into the Bonus Damage% box to see how it should affect your dps but that will cause it to be different from the in game damage number.
If anyone who has an item with this affix, be it an OH, the WD boots, or anything else, would like to either post or PM me dps values and total gear stats both with and without the item, I can check my calculations to see if I can get an exact match with in game damage number. The information I'll need is total crit%, crit damage%, +attack speed, total Int, total +min/max bonus damage on items, and all weapon stats, including bonus damage%, bonus damage totals and type, +attackspeed on weapon, etc.
Quick update: thanks to kraal I was able to compare my dps calculator to the in game damage number for a wizard source with +elemental damage% and my calculations appear to be consistant with the in game calculations. The numbers end up being off by a bit but I have a few more calculations I can look at to see if I can get an exact match. For now, the spreadsheet should give reasonable accuracy to within 0.05% or so for items with that affix. Right now my main recommendation is to make sure the damage number matches for all items equipped without the affix before adding it or comparing, to make sure the comparison is as accurate as possible.
Also, for reference, it seems the bonus damage is still applying to only the total min damage (min weapon damage + all +min damage on jewelery+OH) and is applying 2x the shown %.
Fixed a bug that gave erroneous EHP contributions by equipped items when Archon was selected. The bug only affected the stats displayed under the items in the Equipped Items tab.
Also changed fill and font color for input boxes to reflect University of Washington's colors. GO HUSKIES!
On a side note, I can confirm the DPS number of characters shown in the profiles you browse while logged into the game but not in an active game (i.e., browsing the AH) uses the same calculations I use for the +x% elemental damage. The number tends to be different than the actual in game number for the same reason it is without the elemental damage affix, namely because of how it treats the bonus damage% on weapons in game. The differences are small and since I'm still trying to match the in game DPS numbers I'll keep my spreadsheet as is, though the profile dps is fairly easy to compute exactly when accounting for bonus weapon damage%.
I added a box for +Attack Speed and renamed the +attack speed% box to Increased Attack Speed%. The +attack speed is the decimal attack speed increase found on some legendary and set items.
If anyone notices the new +attack speed not working correctly or not calculating the correct dps, please let me know since I can't test it very well. All I could do was check to see if the actual weapon attack speed was equal to the displayed weapon speed after rounding for 1 item I saw on someone's profile. Based on that I think the interactions between base weapon speed, IAS on weapon, IAS on gear, and +attack speed on weapon are being treated correctly.
I am currently Paragon Lvl 12 btw and about to hit 13. Not sure if the profile has updated yet.
I've put all my values in and like quadruple checked everything and I am still missing "130" Int from the spreadsheet. I unfortunately can't find where the value is not calculating.
In game I have 2960 Total Intellect, on the spreadsheet its saying I only have 2830. So I have no clue where the 130 Int went.
It affects my overall dps on the sheet for about 5k. It's not a real problem I can just add the 130 int into a corresponding slot and it matches my ingame dps fairly close, but I figured this might be a possible bug and might need to be addressed.
Anyways once again thanks for a great spreadsheet and hopefully we can find out where my 130 int ran off to..lol
Right now I don't have anything for set bonuses. I was just going to toss it in somewhere, like add to a socket on my ring that doesn't have a socket or something so if I break the set I can see the dps difference. That's what I would recommend doing for now.
