Remember, only 1.9 percent of people have touched inferno. Based off that percentage, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of people don't know what they are doing. Perhaps they are just following trend from their friends.
Ok but if you use that assumption.... Why would diamond skin be the most used skill? Wave of Force, Frost Nova, Electrocute, Magic Missile, Magic Weapon, Disintegrate, Arcane Orb... and many others seem more of normal/nightmare skills...
I would have guessed Force Weapon, or Crystal Shell would be the most used by far.. Prismatic Armor/Force Armor as another possibility.
Mirror Skin makes no sense whatsoever... I think the most likely scenario is that someone wrote down the wrong rune, or their tracking system has an error.
Regardless I think blizzard would have been better off stating the most used skills in level 60 builds.
No you're just an idiot. 1% unlocked inferno, that means the following:
1. You unlock inferno when you hit 60 so.. not a lot of lvl 60s out there
2. Until inferno difficulty you can pretty much use any skill you want and you're fine.
3. If you don't have all the skills unlocked your choices are limited
Just like numbing dart is the most used rune for poison darts. That just tells me there is a lot of level 13 witch doctors out there who are still picking up white items and getting a feel for the game. I don't know about you but when I had the beta as soon as I unlocked a skill, I used it.

If you read the blizzard post it specifies lvl 60 The most used runes for each class at level 60 are Barbarian: Best Served Cold, Demon Hunter: Lingering Fog, Wizard: Mirror Skin, Monk: Peaceful Repose, Witch Doctor: Numbing Dart

No that was a BS misleading stat the devs through up and then trolled the community with.
Its actually a hell of a lot closer to 17% of the players have unlocked inferno.
They did the same shit when they referenced D2 awhile back. They listed some stupidly small % of characters had beaten Diablo in Hell. Which is true, but there was a HUGE HUGE HUGE percentage of players who beat him. Most characters made were mules, or new characters ppl played when they got bored and didn't touch again.

in order to unlock inferno u need to hit 60 & bit diablo on hell which in my case wasnt same thing / i hit 60 in act 3 hell .. somewhere in the middle
also they said 1.9 % of characters .. so we have no idea how many ppl actually unlocked inferno
speaking slowly & in capital letters so ppl will get it : I HAVE 4 CHARS THAT UNLOCKED INFERNO WHICH MAKES ME A BIGGER PART OF 1.9% THEN PPL WHO DID IT WITH ONLY 1 CHAR
u can use pretty much every skill u want when u hit 60 / unlock inferno & ur fine .. so its not fine when ur 60 & in inferno ? u only looses stacks when u change skill in between farming / what about trying out skills on inferno ur suggesting i cant do that
and ur last point is just a simple fact so i dont rly get it beeing ur point in the argument - in words of
Dr. Watson "No shit Scherlock"
Umm.. What? Your whole rant on being level 60 bit diablo? u hit ur & ? u looses... just gives me a headache.
If you want to bring "Scherlock" in this conversation make sure you know how to spell his name first.
2nd. Yes I was wrong on some of my points but it still stands. People are trying to get a feel for the game and figure out other aspects, myself included. Poison dart like every other WD? No I think i'll try something else. Nothing wrong with that, furthermore that doesn't make people stupid based off a statistic the blue's posted with obvious uncertainties on how concrete those statistics even are.

Just quoting this because it boggles my mind. Presumably you're saying what he wrote was confusing.. and yet you wrote that? It's like trying to decipher hieroglyphics.
I think he was commenting on how you said that you unlock Inferno when you turn level 60... which is not true. you have to be level 60, and you must have beaten Diablo on hell mode. I reached 60 before doing this and couldn't access inferno until I did.
Also, yes, it's amazing how many people are using dumb skills. But you have to keep in mind, not everyone is a hardcore diablo player or serious gamer at all. To me, saying you beat the game on Normal with 1 class means nothing. But to the average person, that means they beat the game and they're done with it. I know a lot of people like that. And there are more people still who will not even play that far into the game. Some people just don't have the time nor the desire to put as many hours into this game as we do, and we really shouldn't expect them to or look down on them for using stupid skills or not getting to inferno, maybe they're just trying to... have fun.
In other news, Diamond shards was a very useful skill back before crit mass was nerfed, because you could go back and forth spamming that and frost nova and get a lot of DPS. But now that that's been nerfed, I don't see a reason for anyone to ever use that skill again.

So far in this entire thread, Choda has actually put out something useful and worth discussing.
Sure isn't mandatory at all, I'm in act 2 of inferno with my wizard now, never used diamond skin and never will. It's a bad skill and you should feel bad for using it.
I'm almost to act 3 in hell and haven't found a need yet. I haven't researched builds (or anything about the Wizard really), because I haven't hit any roadblocks yet.

I hope I don't end up needing it.
Second, I think you are unfortunately high balling that statistic. You would be amazed how bad some people can be.
