I am running through Season 5 and have completed enough of the Season to have full FireBird. Here is the scenario I would like some help with, and may require some damage calculation, that I do not understand.
I am running a Disintegrate build (convergence), and I have the Etched Sigil, which will let me cast my other spells for free, as long as Disintegrate is running. I have tried running both Energy Twister (gale force) and Blizzard (apocalypse), and both have been extremely successful. But, what does the most damage? I am casting both continuously, and for free. I just want to know if I"m getting more damage out of the Twisters (moving around) or the blizzard(AoE). Both are great for the full set bonus of Firebird.
Likewise, my build also consists of power weapon and familiar to boost damage, while a friend (also runnign with the Etched Sigil) just filled his bar with BlackHole, Twister, Meteor, Blizzard, and let's them all cycle through.
Any advice on a damage calculator to see what the best DMG output would be, would be greatly appreciated (or any other advice anyone may be able to offer).
It's purely damage from Disintegrate. Spin your beam, light em' up quick, and get it over with. Usually I'll tag an elite, then wipe the rest of the screen with the buff. No fussing with procs or spells missing. Just you and your big laser beam.
That being said, I've had a fair bit success with Apocalypse. It covers a nice area, and you get more enemies burning quicker, for TX rifts, at least. So you get more buff = more damage. Twister has a chance to miss, covers a smaller area, and you really want to light as much on fire as possible. Which is why I prefer a straightforward laser beam.
Firebird's burn damage also benefits highly from modifiers like +Fire damage, which the FB source has.
Ignatius, I notice you used Force Weapon as your Magic Weapon rune. I've been considering switching to this but first wanted to confirm that using the arcane rune won't effect my fire damage. I assume all the damage I deal is still fire while using this rune?

Do what you enjoy, but this is what I run with, which goes without Etched Sigil.

My character. Aether Walker/Deathwish/Furnace can be mixed based on your preferences.
