I obtained a level 60 MoJ pre-RoS launch and have been using it ever since. I am finding helmets that increase my overall damage (some up to 10% IIRC), toughness and healing and it is getting tempting to switch it up from MoJ to one of the new masks. I even landed a pretty nice version of a level 70 "The Grin Reaper". Anyone have any clues as to if there is a certain threshold that I should consider changes helmets for? I really dig my pet build right now and can pretty easily slaughter T1 and am planning on bumping up to T2 but wanted to consider switching helmets to see what happens (and then possibly my spec as well if that is what is needed).
I am also using the 60 MoJ with great success, and the only replacement is the 70-version as I really enjoy my current build. I am also using the 60 Tasker and Theo and 4-p Zuni (some 60, some 70s) resulting in insane Fetish DPS, MUCH higher then my sheet DPS. T6 Manglemaw goes down in ~15 sec
I got one and I feel that incorporating pets is detrimental to damage especially in a group. I'm just using projax's build and it kills stuff the fastest for me.
I haven't done any real testing, but my pet alternate was replacing soul harvest and slam dance with gargantuan + zombie dogs. Replaced pierce the veil with the 50% pet damage passive, and even still I felt like my damage was nerfed.
I think WD could have used a terrible tank pet that did some good damage instead of piranhas even though I love that ability.
For solo play I feel like the mask can be useful, but there is almost no reason IMO in a group where others will be meatshielding for you. Slam dance is too good not to use for your group.
Edit: I do really like Sluug's build, ditching the gargantuan and zombie dogs and focusing on fetishes. I'll def. use it if I can get the fetish bonus items to drop or tasker and theo. I did try a fetish build with the fetish passive but I didn't use vampire bats.
I'm going to go try a new build with fetish passive+vampire bats and see how I like it.
I totally agree that dogs and Garg is close to useless when you can have the awesome fetishes. The other pets just does not add enough DPS to be worth it. My little dudes just melts everything so far in torment 2-3. Single target DPS in incredible. For boss fights like Maltheal I swap soul harvest for leeching Dogs for more heals.
Wanted to jump in and say I had a very similar question. Currently have a Mempo of Twilight worth about 8% more damage but between MoJ and Tall Man's Finger I am not sure where the point of improvement needs to be to move away from pets.
PS: Like the build Sluug, my only question is do you run into problems when it comes to movement given that bats are a bit expensive and I see no basic attack.

It might look like a mana starved build at first, and it can be if you need to move a lot or facing mobs with fear. The key is Grave Injustice that gives me 1% mana per kill and also reducing my CD on Spirit Walk which gives me 20% mana per use. The key is to stay close to the action which basically removes the CD on Spirit Walk = very good mana management.
My normal play-style is this:
Spawn my permanent army.
Find a good sized group of mobs, cast Piranhas with the Piranhado rune, grouping them very tight an increases mob damage taken with 15%
Run in and blow them up with Soul Harvest, criting for easily 3-4M per mob and gives me 10% int buff for even more damage.
Run out and let the fetishes to move in and start casting Firebats till all are dead. Repeat
