In a pet build like mine, I'm free to choose any rings I want, so did somebody by any chance had the luck to enter PTR and try out something like my set-up and test the 2 before mentioned rings?
If yes, are the results as good as I expect them to be?
Well, currently on PTR it's 150% + DMG if I'm correct. Looking at this, it seems it could be really a nice set of rings for Tiki+SMK (even if they lower it to 100%, below that I don't think they will go).
I'm running this set bonus on my ptr wd and its currently more effective than the new zuni 6 set, the only downside is that u cant sit there and spam haunt 24/7 because you really see a damage difference when your sitting at 75-50% mana compared to 100%. Its slightly more damage than zuni plus you can keep tasker and theo for the added attack speed ontop of the damage. Unity really isnt a requirement for tiki/sac pet docs because your perma ccing any and all mobs on your screen and unity wont save you from one-shots in 40+ anyway
They're insanely overpowered and basically BiS for many many builds at this point (though, keep in mind, we have no clue what the final cookíe cutter builds will be). I think 100%, as in the patch notes, or even just 50-75% would be much better to make them alternatives rather than just the new BiS rings. We'll see what the next patch on PTR brings.
I managed to enter PTR, and got the rings. One of them was INT/VIT/AS/sck, so not the best variant.
Still, I cleared GR41/42 on first try (Tiki+ non-ancient SMK+3Aug+2Cain+Vigilante Belt) - with a lot of time left, even considering the fact I was dying like crazy from Thunderstorm - so Xeph ammy seems to be a must for higher GR's.
A GR43 I was actually in time, but then I got Orlash, who now does clones, waller, and half screen fire breath laser clear (pets didn't hold very long). I had to leave after that, but believe GR45 shouldn't be an issue at all, even without ancient SMK. BTW, I saw a dude with some strange combo having cleared GR49 with a pet build, so there are options, and that's OK.
Also, can somebody confirm pet CHD is capped at 50%, or is that just old info?

Is it really overpowered though? You lose set flexibility and it's harder or impossible to mix sets by passing on RROG. And you lose 50% damage reduction (Unity) and or elemental damage+huge bonus elite damage (SOJ). If it goes down to 100% it might not be enough to compete with those rings imo. The way it is now it seems like a legit alternative to those currently mandatory rings, and the damage buff relying on resources available means it won't work in all builds for all situations.

people used "set flexibility" for more damage in slots that would otherwise be the set pieces (magefist, soj, cindercoat, etc). 150% bonus global damage beats out any potential existing options by far.
Cleared 44 with no trouble at all. Got a horrible roll for 45 mobs. I did not finish, but not due to lack of damage. Without a weapon upgrade I feel like this build would be capable of 46 easily and with a weapon upgrade we're looking at about 50ish. At that range I'd have to be swapping over to survival gems and lose gruesome feast. In any case, upper 40s are clearly within reach.
Loosing unity is not a particularly big deal for this build. There's room to pick up another 30-40ish percent survival without losing all that much dps. I don't consider that practical however. We run out of dps before we run out of survival as is. Trading dps for even more survival doesn't have much point.
For those just interested in mechanics: Yes, the rings do exactly what they say they do (the buff does not show up on character sheet). I did not check if its multiplicative or tossed into the overall buff category. In any case, solo it wouldn't make a big difference either way.
Unless Bastion of Will / Zunimassa's Huant are changed, there is absolutely NO WAY zuni could possibly compete with the rings for a melee fetish build.
I've not tried a carvevil build. Maybe tomorrow night.
Yes, they really are that good. However, blizzard said they are 'tweaking' them. It's incredibly unlikely the rings will retain their current level of absurdity into live.

I just did a run with the following loadout:
focus + restraint (horrible rolls on them)
non-ancient SMK
ukhapian serpent
3 piece aughlid
3 piece blackthorne
witching hour
taskers
MoJ
fetish army
voodoo
spirit walk
leech dogs
piranhas
rain of toads
pierce the veil
fetish sycophants
jungle fortitude
gruesome feast

Here the GR42 clear, as said GR45 should be possible with non-ancient SMK. Electricity is bad so I recommend a Xeph ammy.
