i use life on hit i think its safer, if your on low health to get spirit back you need to hit things and then gain spirit and spend it, where as LoH is simply as soon as you start hitting, works well
LPH only heals when attacking, and you lose out on valuable HP when you don't have the Dragon proc and/or Gogok maxed out. LPSS can heal you without having to be in combat, which is handy.
Since you're basically spamming 75 spirit with this build, you're kind of burst healing with LPSS. LPH is more gradual, but doesn't replenish quite as fast. You will notice at times your HP will bounce up a down a little more sporadically than it would with having LPH(depending on amount of HP and resistances etc.), but you'll find more often than not you will be able to avoid dying with LPSS. A lot of times the LPH just can't keep up with the damage you're taking.
If you don't have the Sunwuko amulet yet, or prefer not to use it for whatever reason, then I would stick with LPH. The only way that LPSS will be more effective is if you have the Sunwuko amulet and the The Eye of Peshkov helm and use the skill Breath of Heaven- Infused With Light.
i run 3 different sets using the ring of grandeur, blackthorns sunwuko and augilds so i suppose thats why i use life on hit, and i find that if your not hitting anything you generally have no spirit to spam and get LPSS so I think both ways have benefit
i agree with Slim that LpH is a lot more bouncy though
So i got my first Flying Dragon, yay me, and its crap, is the proc so good that it worth for me to lose 14% dmg over my other weapon or should i fish for another Flying Dragon and just salvage this one, should i got for a socket or LPSH and hope for Ramaladni
Since it's your first FD, I would roll a socket on it and just take it out to see how it feels. Yes, that's a pretty terrible roll on it. Personally, I would not use a Gift on that since it rolled Spirit Regen and CS dmg%, but that's up to you. I think you'll be surprised how well the Dragon performs though, even with sub par rolls.
I'm a bit confuse when choosing among these 2 affixes in Flying Dragon...
Which one best? and the reasons please, we can discuss
I'm currently using LPSS in FD, but still curious about LoH in FD...

GL and hope this helps clear things up a little.

Check out the monk builds at the homepage. The BoH Dragon build pretty much dominates right now.
