Iv been playing a monk and was thinking about selling all of his gear and starting a barb and I wanted to know how much does it cost to get a barb to clear act 3 with no problem? What stats do you look for in the gear and does everyone go WW now or 1H+Shield is still good?
What keeps my going is the lifesteal on rend, and the 3% from passives. Not used much on gear, tops 500000. Found that sweet axe from butcher with my mf monk. Also found most of the rest with said monk as well, including the gloves and shoulders. As you can see, my gear isnt that good, but when i pop Wotb, ignore pain and pull mobs to me with the groundstomp, im invincible if i keep my rend up and keep swinging that axe. Can even stand in plague and desecration with damagereflecting mobs, as long as i have 3 or more mobs with rend on. Its glorious.
Working my way down into the crater now, lets hope i dont run into a brickwall

I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone. Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind. Cast down into the Halls of the Blind

You are a testimony to the magic of this game ... which is that you can play it anyway you wish. You have a very interesting skill set, fairly average gear but are very much enjoying what you're doing. All the best with Azmodan!!!
I think everyone is under estimating the cost. Saying you can spend under 10 mil and have no problem clearing A3 is just lying.
Sure you could get through it but it would take forever and you would die constantly.
I have 53k dps, 40k life and around 750-800 resists with shout and I still do not consider A3 easy. I haven't really kept track of how much I spent but it is probably over 30 mil. I am now at the point where any upgrades are easily 10 mil if not 5x that much.
The 30 mil doesn't count the sweet ammy I found that is worth at least 50 mil.
Starting with no gear and you are good at finding deals on the AH, its still going to cost at least 20-30 mil to farm A3 without dying 10+ times per run.
If you are playing WW/sprint, you need the right balance of LoH/All resist/Armor. By balance I mean, your health gain need to outweigh health loss when you get going in the middle of an elite pack no matter what affixes.
You also need as much crit as possible, preferably 40% fully buffed. Depending on your fury management, you can use either a mighty weapon or Mace/Axe. I recommend using 2 1-hander weapons if you're on a low budget. 2-hander WW/sprint requires uber gear (at least 5 piece Immortal King required).
Crit damage, strength, and attack speed just make stuff die quicker, but are not essential to make this build works. You also only need enough health to make sure you don't die before your fury builds up. If you have around 500 AR and 5K armor, all you need is around 35K health, from experience. As long as you have enough crit, sustenance, and mitigation, you can hold the WW button whilst keeping sprint out and fly around the elites watching them fall over. This is why this build is relatively cheap because you don't HAVE to have insane damage.
If you're dual-wielding, don't use overpower, use Thrive on Chaos instead. Overpower is amazing though, because you can use it without interrupting whirlwind and stuff dies that much quicker, not to mention a permanent 7% crit buff. I'm favouring Attack Speed over crit damage because too much damage is wasted from overkills, and trifecta items are way out of my reach.
I found it more efficient to farm act1 until I got gear worth around 2-3 mil in each slot so total of like 24 mil at least but that is with a 2H build some other specs might be cheaper/more efficient.
Thanks in advance
crit and str! hp/resist/armor
and some lifesteal %
