Act 1 was a cake, however Act 2 is a whole different story. I feel like I'm doing enough damage, but my defense is low, although I hear that even tanked 1h + shield barbarians are having problems in Act 2.
Should I boost my damage further or focus even more on hp/armor/resists?
At the moment my stats are like this:
29.5k hp
13.8k dps
16% crit
225% crit damage
4886 armor
Resists ranging from 69 to 156
Edit:
Swapped out some gear:
33.5k hp
13.3k dps
15.5% crit
4741 armor
Resists ranging from 90 to 175
only 13.8k with 2 hander? I'm at 12k and im using a 1 hander. Either way I know people are saying act 2 you need resist in the 7-900 range to survive which im' still trying to achieve since i'm getting owned in act2
Well, I am using a 757 dps 2 handed weapon. Unfortunately anything better than that costs 500k on AH, and better items are probably dropping in Act 3 or Act 4, and right now that's very much impossible for me.
I have no skills to increase my dps. If I use a shout I get to 19k, but no spot for that skill.
I have a lvl 53 wizard though. I heard they have much easier time farming Inferno, so I might level up that char and then work from there

The "much easier time" was before today. Force Armor nerf puts Wizards at exactly the same spot as Barbarians, except they dont have a 30% passive damage reduction.

Thats a great build btw, i replaced ruthless with battle rage though.
I'm only at 7.5k DPS with a 811 DPS 2 hander, do most of you guys drop MF stat on items and just go with vit/str/resist?
Yo mean Berserker Rage? Sacrificing crit would really put me in a crappy position, it's already too low for my taste :/
Considering how hard Inferno is, there's no place for MF on my barbarian, it's all str, dex and resists
Well, you see. I find one problem with your build and it makes a big difference. You can't have ignore pain and leap. It's one or the other. Not to mention Ignore Pain, Leap, *and* Ground Stomp which are all defensive abilities. Then theres the fact that you're claiming to have no fury using ability and *five* others instead. I would love to know how this was accomplished.

In the options there is an elective mode that un-restricts what skills you select.
I have upped my defense quite a bit now, I'm at 33k hp and 170-274 resists (no shout). My dps is fine (12.8k) since when I meet a champion pack I just pop berserker rage and destroy them in 5-10 seconds.
I'm wiping the floor with everything in Act 1. There's no question about it, I just ran a whole act and farmed some 420k gold.
But Act 2 is just bullshit! I could eventually become stronger by farming cash from Act 1 and then buy gear from AH.
But since when did Diablo 3 turn into WoW grind? Why should I have to run Act 1 countless times to get cash to buy gear?
The items from Act 1 are useless. Drops are between lvl 51 and 60 (very low quality 60s). It it wasn't for all those ranged classes farming late acts, we, barbarians would be stuck in deep shit. We still are tho, the difference now is that we can farm cash to buy stuff other classes who can farm put on AH.
There is a bug where you can create a Hell game, then leave it, join a public game and it will set it to Inferno and you'll be able to join that solo. Thing is, the first boss (boss, not a champion pack, the easy guys, remember?) I've encountered there 1 shot me. I popped ignore pain, it 2 shot me instead.
I don't see how we're going to be able to get to that point and farm effectively without 1000+ resists and 100k hp. And there's currently no gear that will get us that high unless we go sword + board. Well screw that.
I know wizards have been nerfed, but at least they can kite shit.

Try it again with 700 or higher...Guess what?In Act 3 you need even more!
And you probably never played D2 legit - It was all about farming. This time you have a platform for trading aka the AH.
And watch Kripparian on twitch.tv
He is destroying Solo Act 4 Inferno - He farmed and bought a lot of gear in the last few days.He can even pull Champion packs together and kill them with ease.
Farm your gear - It will drop and is random.
This Call of Duty Generation annoys me so much - Think they can just run through - The game isn't even 2 weeks old.
Act 1 gives enough gear but maybe you are so unlucky you wouldn't even get something after 10000 runs and an other person gets 2 good items in a row.
Barbs are fine - Your Gear and Settings aren't...And LOL that you even try it without 1H+Shield if you don't have gear to resist anything.
And 1H+Schield can do insane Damage(not just while popping CDs)...Its just about learning the game.
100k HP isn't needed either...35k HP is completely enough thanks to RES and stuff...
Ah this Xbox Generation - So funny...No patience. No clue about anything but the game and barbs suck xD
Agree with your sentiment subsenix. Blizzard told us through development that inferno would take months to clear, and people were still worried that the game would be too easy. Now they rage that they can't finish it in a few weeks?
Yes, I know teams have cleared it, but that was by missing champ packs, and using skills which were broken.

Damn maybe i am just sucking but i have decient stats for ACT I yet i still get owned, i have 40k HP 600+ resist to all after shout and about 10k DPS using dual 1hs, with about 4.7k Armor and i am still getting owned in ACT I from champs. Any advice would be nice.

I feel the same way, im in act four in hell, 17k, DPS, 26,000 life but I can easily be 1-2 shotted by champs and elites.
I think they knew how fast people would get items with the auction house and that inferno is really only doable with the best of the best of the best of every item. I think it will be a really long time before we can cruise inferno like we used to cruise around Hell in Diablo 2.
My policy is to farm, sell items, gather as much gold as possible and inch up my stats on my character slow by slow. Diablo is a numbers game, and right now the monster's numbers are beating yours.

I used this and had a blast in act 1, I was able to take on anything.
I refuse to go 1h + shield, it's not my playstyle and if 2h or dual wield is impossible to progress with I will reroll another class that can.
