Me and my friend wanna play together.
We're both behind routers, so we both opened the port 4000 (4000-4000 TCP+UDP).
However niether of us can host, no matter what we tried. We used the IP's from www.whatismyip.com, the IP's provided by our ISP's.
Ive had this problem as well, but i was able to fix it through some setting in the firewall. If you right click your network connection icon and go to properties, there should be a tab for security where you can make an exception for local connections going through.
its like a connecting program that makes TCP IP games easier also tells you your ip on it when you use it
but it also connects ppl over larger distances not previously possible for TCP IP games
ive used it before in a fighting game called Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and played against my cousin who lives in massachusetts while i live in florida (has it built in)
i also played the Eastern Mod for Diablo 2 lol
with a bunch of members from here and i dont even know if everyone i was playing with was even from the United States xD

I'm stumped.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
a common misconception is that u need to port forward to b able to host games, not really, seeing as there r millions of games in bnet everyday and there'll only b a couple who r computer geeks
yes, if ur not playing together in the same LAN connection (ie: both connecting to same router and usin 192.168.1(or 0 or 2 usually).x ) u will need hamachi, make a private server (password optional), both connected to the same virtual server, then in ip section type in their hamachi ip (ie: 5.x.x.x)

I didn't turn mine off and ignored people and sure enough I got hit by hackers.
DMZ will open up all your ports but make sure to remove all your port forwarding, they don't work well together.
hope this helps
the fix is getting a program called hamachi
