1. Monsters and destroyable scenery fly like pinballs when struck. Looks very unrealistic and silly! Blizz, can you please tone down the physics a bit? It feels like Titan Quest!
While the rest of your list I could go either way on, I personally very much so disagree with this gripe. The physics in Diablo 3 are one of my favorite parts of the environment thus far. If you've noticed, every spell has a different force of impact on objects or creatures it comes in contact with. For example, the Barb's hammer of the ancients skill sends monsters and the like flying almost off the screen in some cases, which I love, I feel it enforces the fact that it is a very physically powerful skill cast from a very powerful character.
On the other hand, skills we've seen from the Demon hunter don't have this type of effect on objects or enemie, which makes sense considering an arrow would not have much impact force.
All "fanboyism" aside, I genuinely enjoy this feature of the game.
“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.” - Albert Einstein
My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
The physics feels good, the only thing I concerns are the fonts. Especially Item name on the ground
Apart from that, nitpick.
About the level up, you get a yellow blast that certainly kill most monster around you, after that new skill unlocked is shown when there is no action on the screen. That's what i observed
- "Overall I disagree with you. I feel like so many people are nitpicking. The game looks like it adapting to the times. If I wanted Diablo 1 or 2, I'd just be playing those again right now. I'm a vet who's been playing since the D1 demo was released. I'm excited for this version and I am welcoming the changes with open arms. "
The only small details that kinda annoy me are the sound the barb makes with his shouts and some of the lighting I've seen seems too blue, in my opinion it should appear more white. But again just small stupid things to look at.
I really dislike how there are so many class specific items, it seems like every other item someone picks up is class specific. I don't see why a WD can't use a wand, or a wizard use a crossbow, it doesn't make sense to me at all. It is not game breaking or anything, I just think it is pretty lame.
I am nitpicking, don't get me wrong, overall I love what Blizz have done with the game
I thought of another one:
10. Magic effects look cartoonish, while in DII they seemed more, um, photorealistic? Lightnings, in particular. It's their new art direction, I guess, WoW inspired
1. Monsters and destroyable scenery fly like pinballs when struck. Looks very unrealistic and silly! Blizz, can you please tone down the physics a bit? It feels like Titan Quest!
2. Fonts are ugly and unfinished, but I believe this will be fixed
3. Level up and new skill announcements pop up right in the middle of the screen and obscure the action. I hope these can be turned off, just like any type of battle feedback, like damage, crits, gold picked, etc. Completely unnecessary and distracting!
4. Players not taking damage from activated traps (falling walls, etc.) is unrealistic
5. Mouse cursor is ugly and organic. What happened to the gauntlet?
6. Comic-style balloon boxes popping up when characters speak are annoying
7. The aura effect around dropped gold coins is annoying. Dropped gold looks like flying sparkles
8. Characters and NPCs never shut up, I hope there is a way to turn off those prompts (like "not enough mana", the templar exclamations and etc.)
9. Quest exclamation marks above NPCs' heads are a bit annoying and too WoW-like
Some of these have probably been discussed already.. What do you think, do you also find them annoying?
I pretty much disagree with all your points here. The chat balloons can be turned off in the options. Everything else is fine.
Also, there is NOTHING wrong with taking ideas from WoW. WoW has been very successful, and has brought a lot of great things into the world of gaming, particularly in the area of UI design and game mechanic design. Why would they not pass those along to other games? Quest markers over NPCs? Awesome. I don't want to have to hunt around to figure out how to progress the story.
Seriously? Is this what people are complaining about? Things that could EASILY be changed such as fonts and cursors? Shiny gold is too shiny? I'm more worried about the glitches that may be there (such as when force played the DH and Monk and there were missing objects such as the anvils). This is just as absurd when Sixen was complaining about the colors of the DH resources.

Pfff.. Pre-release syndrome, everyone's a weirdo, including sixen

Do they think that if the beta isn't perfect the game will be broken? They've already put YEARS into dev, and this game isn't 100% complete. What do they want?!

Some of these have probably been discussed already.. What do you think, do you also find them annoying?
1. I think this is best served for heavy hits or crits, which would look great to see bones go flying about when you crit a skeleton. Otherwise, the freeze death explode and fire incinerate looks great, but swinging your weapon around and seeing remains roll around on the floor does look a bit odd. Still, I don't think it detracts from the game much.
2. So far the font has only seemed alrightish to me due to video quality. Otherwise I think it's fine. I also think it's the same font from D1 and 2.
3. I don't know. It's not all that large in scale to the rest of the screen. Even in battle when players leveled it hasn't bothered me at all, I actually find it useful to see what new skills they've received. However, I wasn't playing so it might bother someone actually playing, in which case they can maybe move it a bit higher up the screen.
4. I have laughed at this a bit, it seemed funny, though I think it might aggravate players if an ally drops it or if he's accidentally caught in the way on higher difficulties and dies. Still, maybe they can make the damage like 10% or 15% of your max damage, but always leaves you on minimum 1 HP.
5. Organic? I'm not sure what you mean by that. I find it clean and simple. To be honest, the cursor doesn't bother me one way or the other. That's a minor gripe if you ask me.
6. It's better than D2 style large, wordy text boxes. The old one that was sort of a mini cinematic was okay. The speech bubbles keep you in the action, which is the opposite of annoying. If people find it annoying then Blizzard should add an option to remove them.
7. Wow, you find odd things annoying. This helps you see them, and it's far more helpful than running past gold that you will need as you progress.
8. Again, like no.6, this is helpful prompts that aids you while you are in the action. Again, they should add a disable option.
9. The exclamation marks have been in Diablo 2 as well, and Warcraft 3, not just WoW. The exclamation marks for quests are a Blizzard staple, so your point is moot, with a capital M.
10. Seriously? I wished people would stop calling Diablo 3 a WoW inspired game. I will say, however, that some inspirations have come from WoW, but the art? No, I don't agree there, and cartoonish? Diablo 3 looks less cartoonish than Diablo 2. I've been playing D2 over tha last few days again, and D3 so far feels a lot more matured, graphically and style wise.
All in all, some of your points have weight, others range from trivial to nonsensical. And if it truly bothers you, post your views on the official forums. At least there Blizzard will see your remarks and give it attention, whereas posting them here (on a fansite) will change nothing, all we can do is agree or disagree, or flame...

Well said.

It is genuinely amusing how some people take offense that others don't particularly like some aspects of the game in its current stat
Btw just saw there's a topic on the DIII forums called "corpse physics = moon physics?"
at least some agree with me
Can't really "shut someone down" in an subjective based argument. Just sayin'.
