you could always make a picture of him and glue it on a stick, that is attached to a string, and whenever you do something cool pull the string and say " OH YEAH" like duffman.
When I go camping I play "Tristram" very loudy on my expensive stereo, people always come wandering into my campsite from all angles at all times.
Many of them say, "I thought you were over hear playing diablo or something, I love this song'' or some will say " what in gods name are you doing, are you a lunatic, turn that noise off"
either way the song still lives on in many of our hearts, it will always be my all time favorite music.
It just goes to show how popular this series was and is.... nothing can take away from that ever, even if Diablo 3 is an utter failure.

haha well said......Tristram is def up there as one of the best and most memorable tracks from a video game ever thats for sure
k i just watched the gameplay video again and its actually worse than i originally thought it was.... i cant stop looking at the numbers and health bars..... this is definitely not good...

Your only noticing the lifebars and number ONLY because youve focused on the gameplay before.....once you get to playing it yourself I doubt your only gonna notice that stuff
before that happens itll be more likely that my head explodes... and in the moment of the explosion a health bar will go to zero and a critical hit number will show up. Ill have died for the betterment of diablo and diablo fans from all over the world will recognize that my sacrifice saved the game.

Good lord you guys make it sound like this is the single worse thing to ever have been mentioned about being in D3.....ok then lets all not buy the game based on this one fact...blizzard is the worst developer ever ignor all other good things about the game
im glad we are on the same page here, and good idea i suggest we all boycott the game for the betterment of man.
honestly though this really does bother me and will make it feel like an arcade game rather than what it is
Yeah, all I need is for the foul creatures to fall, I'm not thinking numbers nor will I care if they fly out of their dying carcass. I will turn that feature off.
I can just see how game chat will go. Wow we really kicked the living 100's out of the demon!

lmao ya
definitely though i feel like it is not needed. we dont need health bars on every monster. there should only be health bars for bosses
i find it that not having it makes the game look better and makes the game a bit harder if u don't know on screen that u blocked or crit so for me i have to agree that the game doesn't have to have it.
its just not needed. use detail in other places that might need it. as it is we have enough text from items and gold so having less would be better.

"I Do not Consider myself to do Justice, But I Do not conside myself to do Evil Either."
It seems to me that there is a division here among Diablo fans. Those that love the Diablo series and those that love WoW. I am very much a part of the love Diablo series. I also especially dislike WoW. Everything about the way Blizzard has made WoW an slow slow grind as tainted many peoples opinion on WoW. This is why things such as BLOCK and crits showing up is going to upset many people. I believe there a lots of Diablo fans out there that dislike WoW as much as me and we don't want to see our favorite action rpg get turned into the cartoon visual stat counting boring grind that WoW is. Remember all you 11 million WoW fans out there, you have your WoW leave Diablo 3 for us true fans.
We don't want to be told that we need to get more AP or Strength or we need to max our fucking wisdom before you will let us go kill a big boss with you. We don't want to see numbers or we would go play AD&D we want to immerse ourselves in a dark dangerous fantasy world full of ugly demons to slash, fry, burn, freeze, smash and explode. Thank you that is my opinion.
Also everyone saying that if you can turn it off then that would be okay. Well what i say to that is that the fact that it is there changes the style of the game. The fact that the visual side of things is heading down the WoW cartoon path changes what Diablo is about. What Diablo fans want is Diablo 3 not WoW in the Diablo universe. Take a hint Blizzard keep your mindless lifless WoW fans paying there subscription but dont forget us with lives that need to be lived some of us want to play a well made game aswell but we may only have 30 mins to do a boss run. We need action fast and easily available. Also Blizzard remember we are the ones with jobs and money not your die hard wow fans that quit there jobs so they can get tier 7 gear. Please Blizzard WAKE UP!!!!
Okay i admit this may be getting a little off track. But this is what it is really about.
ok, so the post #139 was completely offtopic and not less useless than the hundreds of debates we had after the actual announcement about graphics, gameplay, classes, lighting, monsters, items, inventory and anything else an obsessed kid that wants a remake of Diablo 2 has been asking.
Stick to the topic please, which in this case is that the User Interface is usually customizable and that these numbers, at least in Blizzard's "other" game can be toggled on and off.
D3
Player 1: Wow, I just critted for such and such damage.
Player 2: I've critted higher before
Player 1: My base damage is 100
Player 2: My base is 101 dmg
D2
Player 1: Nice bo, 5.5k life
Player 2: Thats nothing, I got 5.6k
Player 1: My Hammers do 17k
Player 2: Mine do 18k nub
Yeah, it will probably be the downfall of D3... or it might just stay the same as it is now. You think about it. Who knows, maybe it'll be changed so its like in D2. Then the gamechat is empty because half are bots and the others don't wanna talk. Yay to socialized gaming!
Numen: If you're so obsessed with that stuff, why don't you submit some questions next time a Q&A is set up. Stuff like... "Can you patch D2 so theres no health bars of monsters?" and "Can features like the Crit Hit display be turned off?" Maybe you will get some answers and be able to sleep again at night. Seriously though, like we can't prove it could be toggled on and off, you can't prove it won't. Except you're bringing on the complaints before we even know how it will be handled.
AHAHAHAH That gave me a good laugh....thats exactly how I remember a lot of D2 convos :P....regardless tho players are always gonna do that no avoiding it...but I certainly do not think it would be the downfall of the game
