I played a lot of Diablo 2, I really enjoyed playing the amazon, both javazon and bow spec. Can I expect a similar experience playing the DH? Or is the only similarity the fact they both do ranged damage?

One of the greatest features of Diablo 3 compared to Diablo 2 is even more customization opportunities. When you look at the list of skills in D3, it doesn't look like we're getting much/any more customization over D2, but the fact that we can add runestones to our skills that dramatically change its functionality will allow us to create far more builds so we won't have to restrict ourselves to just a few workable builds like just a bowazon or a javazon. For example, the single skill called Hungering Arrow can be modified by adding an Alabaster rune to it to create small AoE on some arrow hits or you can decide to put an Indigo rune into it to make each arrow split into 5 arrows for a wider spray or a Crimson rune into it to add a DoT to it. Customizing each skill to work better for your build will allow for a plethora of unique, effective builds for us to explore.
Thanks for the information guys. I will most likely either create a DH/monk/wiz/barb or WD first...:P Bah I have no idea what to play. Everything looks good from what ive seen.
To a certain extent yes. But thats only down to the use of the same weps. The demon hunter is much more agile than the amazon ever was. Combine the babas passive increase movement speed with the amazons weapons and you get the demonhunter. It will most likely be one of the hardest class to play. Personally i don't like it very much and it will be the last class i make. But each to his own..
I agree.. I think it is going to be a hard class to master.. but once mastered, especially in pvp.. I think DH is going to dominate with all the cc/evade and dps utility it has.. maybe Im reading into it wrong
