This is my first "real" build post here on the forums. I've been a long-time lurker and have enjoyed reading these forums ever since the D2 days and I'm happy to be able to provide a little something back!
THE FIRE WALKER
What is it?
This spec focuses on a very forgiving entry-level gear requirement and has high emphasis on augmentingFire Skills while still maintaining the classic Barbarian Mobility I used to love from D2 (something I personally feel has been lacking in D3).
GEAR When I say this build is entry-level gear friendly, I'm not joking. Here is my current sheet stats along with my weapon. (NOTE: THE YOUTUBE VIDEO COVERS EVERY PIECE OF MY GEAR, CURRENT AS OF 3/31/14)
As you can see, my stats and gear aren't anything special, but I can still farm comfortably in T3 without much trouble.
Where Does The "Fire" Part Come In? The most important stat we want to focus on is heavily augmenting yourFIRE damage. Most of our skills convertPhysical Damage to Fire Damagethereforeany modifying we can do to augment our fire skillswill also augment our converted Physical Damage. The results aremassive amounts of Crit Damage on non-elites and evenhigher damage on Elite / Bosses. I know that there exists better ways to augment Fire Damage in the game, but I am only working with what I've got.If I don't posses the item, I can't use it in the build.
As you can see, I currently only have 2 real items that augment my Fire Damage and I still regularly crit for over8 Million per Seismic Slam (unbuffed without Rampage Stacks). I'm really excited to see what kind of numbers a truly "Geared" Barbarian can push!
Why Not WW/Lightning/XX Like Other Barbs? I've grown tired of the standard WW variants out there and wanted a build that dealt MASSIVE damage with reasonable sustain while also giving me suitability options that were less gear dependent and more dependent on my play-style and mobility. I'm not proclaiming that this build farms "better" than any other build out there, I'm simply presenting Barbarian Players out there who may feel the "gear squeeze" that most WW Builds require to be stable and viable a different, lower gear-capped alternative.
The Build In Action I have covered every aspect of the build, including Paragon Levels, every gear slot, alternative passives and game-play in my newest Build Video which you can find here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvaD6oHLgO0PLEASE check the information box / YouTube Annotations for shortcuts that will take you to the specific part of the video you're wanting to view.
Usually there's very little downtime where I don't have enough Fury to Seismic Slam between juggling Avalanche, Fury and / or Furious Charge / Leap, but if there is a point where everything is on CD, I normally try to corral the mobs I'm fighting into a group to make the SS's more effective.
Looks like alot of fun Have you tried switching out Wrath of the bersker for Battle rage - Bloodsheed ? This also enables you to take weapon master as passive instead. You will lose some burst dps but should gain more overall dps I believe, and since you already have 2 mobility skills getting out of frozen/jailer etc. should be possible.
The gear also enables you to do a HoTa build I believe. I'm running a fire hota build and it seems like there are alot of similarities in the two builds.
An important aspect of these kind of builds where damage mostly comes from 1 skill is you can get toughness on the other pieces instead of having several different +skill dam affixes.
I used to run Bloodshed with this spec and found myself getting into trouble with Waller / Frozen / Jailer mobs. I decided that the 20% extra damage proc from the Bloodshed Rune wasn't worth the lack of mobility in the higher Torment Difficulties, so I tried a few different variations and they all paled in comparison versus Leap's mobility.
As far as incorporating HOTA instead of SS, I've tried it and it does respectable damage but I prefer SS due to not only the knock-back, but the wide swathe of mobs you can clear out in just one or two hits as opposed to HOTA-spamming the same spot on the ground. IMO though in the HOTA vs SS Debate, I say use whichever suits your play-style / farm-style.
Gotta try this build at home. I have some cool fire gear (no soj yet). I guess I have 70-80% fire damage counting all my pieces ( Including Maximus with 2.746 dps). Let's hope for the best lol

I just found a neck that rolled 15% Fire along with Crit % and Crit Dmg % and it increased the damage substantially. I also neglected to mention (or even show in the video) that I have a 19% Fire Dmg Andariel's Helm in my Stash so the video is far behind the crits I'm receiving now! If you can pull 70-80% Fire Damage you're going to see unbelievable numbers lol. Good luck!
Just a update about this fire spec. I tried use your build, but it was not very smooth to my play style. So, I adapted the build to "The man with Fire Fists"
I'm currently sitting at 74% fire damage. Bash with Instigation has some nice damage and generates a good amount of Fury. Hammer of the Ancients with Smash is HUGE. Massive attacks that squeeze elites in seconds (T2-T3 with my gear). For mobility and more dps you have Furious Charge with Battering Ram. Fury generation you can count with Ground Stomp with Foot of The Mountain (also a great dps output) and War Cry with Charge. For extreme burst you have Wrath of the Berserker with Insanity.
Passives I'm using Unforgiving (it's nice to have some fury stocked while running after mobs) and Bloodthirst, since I'm lacking some armor and regen It's helping me a lot at the moment.
Bonus: Manglemaw build lol (less than 30 seconds fight at Torment V)

Fire barbs are fun and powerful, I guess I'll write a more detailed guide at home hahaha.
