I cant wait for this game to come out ive been just reading and reading soaking it all in.
However, ive played diablo 2 for a bit, but really didnt master it.
I would like to make a barb to farm inferno. I guess I wanna start with that in order to try and grab the better gear n such. After that ill worry about PVP or PVE types.
My question is im pretty much a noob, I want to be able to make a great farmer class. I guess im asking for your help. Or if you cant point me towards great articles explaining things. By the way I never played the Beta either. Seems like theres a lot to learn lol
So anyway here is my build feel free to comment or tell me it sucks, but can you please explain why, and what I could to do improve it.
You dont have any singetarget damage, devs have stated that it will be important in inferno so I would suggest getting atleast one good single target damage ability.
Change "Death from above" to "Iron Impact", you will need the extra defense and stuns wont last long in inferno anyway.
Change "Vengeance is mine" to "Provocation", its just better
War Cry with impunity is a good choice and Im guessing it will be more or less mandatory in inferno
I would probably swap wrath of the berserker for something else, perhaps Battle Rage with Marauders rage?
Lastly I would swap all of the passives
Inspering Presence wont help much against the insane damage, neither will juggernaut. Change them for better defensives that reduce damage taken.
Ruthless is awsome for a crit build but Im pretty sure there is some other passive that will be better for damage in your build.
Why would you change WoTB, For the single target damage?
I like the passives because you have one Armour+ one crit + and 1 for no physical. But maybe instead of superstition, pound of flesh might serve me better, what do you think?
Okay how about this build, Im trying to incorporate everything Jay said if thats his name. Trying to have good single attack with good dps, aoe, and of course defensive attributes as well. Also party help thats where ignore pain- mob rule come into effect along with War cry - impunity.
For any farming build with Barbarian I'm taking Hammer of the Ancients - Birthright, and Threatening Shout - Grim Harvest. AFAIK these are the only abilities that do anything like this and could arguably make Barbarians the best at MF/farming because of it.
I personally am not a fan of Mob Rule, just because I doubt everyone in the group will take dmg at the same time.. I think you, as a barb will block far the most dmg input... So I would rather go for Ignorance Is Bliss or Iron Hide.
I must aswell disagree with you using Reaping Swing, I doubt that in Infenro, where mobs hit you that hard and you will for sure not end up spamming WW as hell, you will be starving, so I would suggest you to head for Broad Sweep.
Check http://www.diablofan...-2h-barb-build/ , some various builds for group/solo, maybe will be helpfull.. But we still need to play and try out some skills and affixes, really a lot depens on gear you get, only after that we can speak "for sure"
Awesome thanks, ill read that post and see if I can learn some cool stuff. Your points are valid im gonna mess around with what you said and see what I come up with

Makes sense what youve posted in terms of mf, but what about the rest of your build?

I'll figure it out as I play. The inferno landscape will be hellish. It'll probably be a crit based build to activate hammer's ability more often though.
