its quite strange, i got the key in a blizzard mail and it seems very legit.
but what strikes me is
"Congratulations! You have won a spot on the Diablo III beta test through a competition hosted at one of our fansites."
okay awesome... witch one? <.< i cant tell...
2 days ago i won 2 keys on a different site, but that site requires registered accounts which blizzard activate later on.
but then i got this? i dont really know if this is one of those i won or a 4th one... :I
if it really is my 4th i will prob hold some time of competition to give them away, or give them to http://www.twitch.tv/lessqmorepew to give away. this is undecided.
---------------------------------
the purpose of this thread is simple, how did you get your key? a blizz mail or did blizz register your account manually.
DON'T GET HOSTILE as at least 4 people already have, i WILL give atelast 1 key away, on this site or to the guy on the link above so that he can give it away.
was there a key given in the email? or was it an email asking for your account information?
if there's a key in the email, its probably legit.
if its asking for your account info, its a scam.
i get that, and yes its a real key. (not tested, but the mail is VERY legit, i know that)
the thing is that there was this other site i won 2 keys on, they wanted some simple info to add the beta acces to the account manually, bu blizzard (they wanted name, account name) so they did not ask for account information like a password.
whats strange to me is that why must i give this stuff to one site, but apparently i just get a key from a different one? :/
This seems extremely dodgy
If you win a key from a site you weren't even registered on....it's a scam
no no ^^ the key is prob 100% real, it just dosnt say what site
the other 2 keys i won only asked for name+account name, and they ware to be added by blizz manually tomorrow to be exact.
the first one (theo ne i use) i got form this site for good posts, and that one i got by a simple PM.

If you had to enter any info or give any info regarding ANYTHING to receive your beta key you were scammed. All you were supposed to get was a key (received in w/e way the fansite said it would be delivered) which you enter on battle.net to give you beta access.

get that <.< still people
this is not about getting scammed, they could not scam me for getting my name+account name (no password aor anythign else) and these 2 keys i got before are to be delivered to 2 of my friends, added manually by blizzard.
whats strange is that first one i got by PM, the one I use,
second on that site asking for name+acocunt name
third aswell
4th? this one, a normal blizz mail,
what im asking is, do you think this "4th" key i got is actually the second key?
ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT PM ME ABOUT WANTING THE KEY, I ALREADY GOT 5 PMS ABOUT IT

+1 I have yet to see a legit website "forget" to put their name in an email, especially in emails for contests winners.
I would say whoever you give the key to, just tell them to go to battle.net in their web browser, click add a game, and copy / paste the key you give them. If it works great, if not, its an elaborate scam.
Sounds like its probably legit though.
PS
just in case, i already have beta access so please dont give it to me
Some people are just lucky. I was hoping that having an active wow sub, and Diablo 2 + LoD will get me a key, but... guess blizzard just don't like, never been to any beta they had.
Actually, some sites you need to tell the name you registered your account with for getting access to Diablo 3 beta.
They collect it in one mail and send it to Blizzard and they activate the accounts.
great, thank you. this is all i wanted, just to confirm this.
My guess would be that Blizzard saw that your account was flagged for two beta accesses and decided to send you one of the to keys while activating your account with the other one.
And for those people believing in scam: Most german fansites have to ask for your name and your battle.net e-mail since Blizzard would not give them the keys but asked for accountname and the the name of the owner to activate the accounts themselves. The reason for that is probably to reduce key trading, though it only happens on some fansites which leads me to believe that they just run low on legit keys and want to reduce the number of keys they have to give out.
great, this confirms it also.
firstly i already got 1 key, won 2 others this way you are describing, and this is prob my 4th then, but i'm having trouble to figure out where i got it, from what site
Congrats. Many of us haven't had the chance to obtain one key, so it's kind of unfair. You could make a give away contest here, so that we can all have a chance!
someone is bragging about is 4th key without wanting to give it...
can we close this thread now?
this is NOT bragging, i INTEND to give it away, don't you worry
i was just asking because i wanted to get it confirmed that some sites activates by getting name+account_name
because if that was the case i really did get my 4th key.

You have legitimate hardcore fans here, and most of us would do anything to try the beta. Appreciated, and i think many here would agree.
your beta key ratio is 4:0 vs my beta keys.
my first key was a PM on this site
im asking becoes i jsut want to know if other people have been getting keys by blizzard adding them manually, or ALWAYS by mail?
(ps, lol bet you could have removed that red bar now huh? xD lol)
great, thank you. this is all i wanted, just to confirm this.
