Skills

Pound of Flesh, Nerves of Steel, and Inspiring Presence should all be used, the 4th spot is often debated.

I personally prefer Superstition, because you can feel the damage reduction, but some viable alternatives are Animosity or Relentless.

Gear

You will note, the #1 priority of this build is pickup radius, even higher than it normally is with pull barb, because all you are doing is spinning in circles to get globes for your rats.

For gear, Pride of Cassius and Chilanik's Chain are interchangeable, just wear whichever one is best.

In-geom in cube is basically required, as rat runs are so fast, it will allow you to spam Threatening Shout to restore fury at times where it may dip.

Every other item in the build is pretty much non-negotiable, however you can wear Wastes shoulders, and drop royal ring to wear a hellfire ring. I've also opted to wear a RED gem in my helm with the hellfire ring. Cooldowns can be a bit tight sometimes, but you do gain about 12.5% / 4 which is like 3% exp per person, not too shabby.

Paragon Priorities

Core

Movement Speed
Maximum Resource
Vitality
Primary Stat

Offense

Cooldown Reduction
Attack Speed
Critical Hit Chance
Critical Hit Damage

Defense

Resist All

Life Regeneration

Utility

Resource Cost Reduction

Max Movespeed, make sure boots + paragon = 25%, max resource to help keep Aquila uptime, the rest go into vitality,

Only thing to consider is not putting in area damage to reduce lag, especially due to the whirlwinding.

Build Guide

Playstyle

Enter the rift, make sure every necro is constantly getting your buffs, and use your debuffs accordingly.

  1. Ignore Pain: This should never be down, every character needs this 100% of the time, walls/corners are not an excuse, make sure people aren't running to Africa, communicate this.
  2. Threatening Shout: This ability can be spammed often, but make sure elites get hit with it. Because it restores fury, after an in-geom proc you can spam this sucker while running to get back to full fury.
  3. Sprint: Use Sprint often, but mostly after you kill Elite packs. Gotta go go go, Rat runs boys, rat runs.
  4. War Cry: This ability needs a bit more forethought, as it has a bit of a cooldown, and the buff is pretty short. You want to use this right after killing an elite pack, and try to chain it with itself if in-geom proc is up.
  5. Call of the Ancients: This ability can have nearly 100% uptime if your group is proccing in-geom fast enough, so it should be up for every elite, if not the entire rift.
  6. Whirlwind: You should basically never not be whirlwinding, figure out what button is most comfortable to hold down for the rift, and do it.

While that is going on make sure to pick up globes, this is where the pickup radius comes in to play. The bigger your pickup radius, the faster globes will get sucked up, and the more damage your necros will do without dying.

Finally, make sure you hit pylons as soon as they appear, except maybe channeling because you might need to wait a second to communicate that one with your Necros.

Conclusion

That's it, there's not a lot to, spin in circles, no hooks this time around, gather globes the entire time to keep your group full of resources and alive, and clear each rift. Rat Runs should take you from 2-5 minutes, if they are longer than 5 minutes you're doing too high of a difficulty.

After rifts you can always hunt for pools, and I even have a nice writeup for that here.

If you're looking for guide to pull barb, I have an amazing writeup w/ videos here.
