Legendary Gems
Kanai's Cube
This build provides significant toughness and will keep you alive! However, because of this you lack a bit of damage. It can do a 80 Grift easily, but pushing higher than 90 will take some time by farming paragon and Caldesann's Despair (strength).
Gems:
- Helm - Flawless Royal Amethyst (Diamond if you need more CDR if you're not rolling it on you gear)
- Chest & Pants - Flawless Royal Diamonds until you are comfortable with the build. Then start replacing as many as you can with Flawless Royal Ruby for more damage.
Legendary Gems:
- Pain Enhancer - This will help you clear large groups of trash easily and increase your attack speed significantly when in large packs.
- Taeguk - The best gem right now for WW builds. A level 75 gem will increase damage by 50% at 10 stacks. This gem is a must!
- Bane of the Stricken - Amazing for Rift Guardians.
- Esoteric Alteration - You can use this gem in replacement of Pain Enhancer. This gem will help keep you alive if you need it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are trying to push since you will lose out on damage from Pain Enhancer.
Weapons:
- Strength > Cooldown Reduction > Damage % > Vitality.
- Royal Emerald in the socket.
- Use a cube for the sockets. If you don't have a cube yet, you can remove CDR if you don't need it or Vitality if you have a surplus.
Hellfire Amulet:
- Weapons Master or any of the others listed above of course.
How To Play!
- Hold right click and spin!
- Keep Battle Rage up 100% of the time
- Use Furious Charge every 6 seconds to sustain 30% damage increase from bracers and your 80% damage reduction from ring. Make sure to charge into enemies to reset its cooldown with the Merciless Assault rune.
- Keep Ignore Pain up 100% of the time. If this isn't yet possible due to imperfect gear, then make sure you save it for big attacks or for frozen since this will make you immune to frozen effects. If you are unable to keep Ignore Pain up 100% of the time, make sure you are at least keeping up your damage reduction by using Furious Charge!
- Keep Wrath of the Berserker up as much as possible.
- Rend when you have time in between everything else.
This build requires a lot of micro managing, as you can see. You have 2 very important damage mitigation abilities to keep up which are Ignore Pain and Furious Charge. If both of these are down, then you are left defenseless and will most likely get 1 shot at higher Grifts. Keep at least one of these active at all times!
Furious Charge doubles as an offensive ability as well with Strongarm Bracers, however, this relies on knockbacks and some enemies can't be knocked back so it's mainly used for trash and keeping up mitigation. Battle Rage provides a good amount of AoE damage on trash with Bloodshed and increases damage overall, it's easy to keep up 100% of the time. Wrath of the Berserker significantly increases damage output and this is why CDR matters. You want as much CDR as needed to keep Wrath of the Berserker up as much as possible.
TL;DR
- Keep all CD's active (especially damage reduction CD's [Furious Charge and Ignore Pain!])
- Keep all damage CD's active (Battle Rage and Wrath of the Berserker)
- Hold down Whirlwind and use Rend when you can
