You can switch rings vise-versa depending on which one has better stats. but Circle in Cube is almost always better since you need max Mage uptime.
I use Amethyst in Helm and RUBIES in gear slots for more armor. TOPAZ is good for dps of cause, but Blood Rush - Potency doubles armor.
Reaper's Wraps are not a bad choice if you don't have good APDs.

Hello everyone!
Since i fell ill and could barely stream, i invested a lot of time in theorycrafting Necro builds and specifically Bones of Rathma.
The set itself has been nerfed and i almost lost hope that i could make it work. Luckily the working combination of skills and items is finally found.
I finally found a decent way to make the build relatively tanky in density as well as output tremendous amount of damage and refill essence steadily.
I am pretty sure the build will be copied fast and spread all over the internet, but this is no big deal, since i want everyone to have fun, we are here for it! Make PETS GREAT AGAIN!
Potential is clearly there, especially for single target. Might be even an RG killer. I easily see this going higher than GR100 based on damage output. Imagine something like 5 million sheet damage instead of 1,9.
It's also very sad that there is no space for Army of the Dead here. I tried to fit it and even made to GR80 with it but then toughness and damage problems emerged. And Mages simply do more damage. Revive is also not great at all.

Important CHANGE 08/07/2017: With the upcoming change to 6pc Bonus (4 mages instead of 10 for full damage) Scythe of the Cycle can be used in the cube instead of Reilena! 60% more damage across the rift and almost identical damage with Simulacrum up! Borrowed Time rune for Decrepify instead of Dizzying Curse. Keep in mind this is simply an additional OPTION to choose from, and not mandatory!

How does it work in general?
1) Skeletal Mages get dramatic buffs through multipliers, essence, simulacrum uptime and Singularity rune. They kill everything here.
No need to have 100% uptime of mages. Have your damage reduction up, find a juicy elite pack. Pop Simulacrum. Start producing mages. Command Skellies on elite. IT'S DEAD.
2) Scythe of the Cycle is a flat 300% increase of base Mages rune. Reilena's Shadowhook damage buff is almost identical when Simulacrum is up, but far behind when it's on cooldown (155% vs. 300%). Reilena also generates an extra Essence for Bone Spikes which is quite essential. It's up to you to decide what you want to use. Do you want more mobility and armor or more damage but less essence generation and no mobility? Just choose which style fits you better and is less frustrating.
How to survive?
1) Blood Rush - Potency doubles your Armor, it appears to be better than Bone Armor for a strange reason. Also boost mobility! Relocate often! (ONLY USABLE WITH REILENA!)
2) Unity is another 50% damage divided between Follower and you. (Fro groups use Concention of Elements)
3) Esoteric Alteration doubles sheet toughness.
4) If you die, wait till your skeletons get you 50% damage reduction of 4pc.
5) Ancient Parthan Defenders give you another layer of toughness in density cause you constantly
6) Cast Decrepify all the time to get damage reduction of the Dayntee's belt and CDR. You have to recast it a lot since you kill mobs all the time as well.
7) Get life on hit somewhere (Bracers preferred, or a ring), this will heal you through Grizly Tribute passive. Also Life Regen is good for Bone Armor - Flesh Sustained.
Useful stats:
1) Skeletal Mage rolls on Boots and on Helm.
2) CDR is very good to have for Simulacrum, also armor OR life.
3) Try to get essense on Weapon as well as put points in paragon. Reilena's Shadowhook buffs your damage based on your max essence. Simulacrum doubles that, and makes Mages very powerful, so higher essence = crazy damage.
4) Skeletons can be Dark Mending, Enforcer or Freezing Grasp, Freezing Grasp is very good for proccing Krysbin's ring.
5) Bone Armor - Dislocation is good for stuns and Krysbin procs. Also it gives 30% damage reduction. (ONLY USABLE WITH SCYTHE OF THE CYCLE!)
Useful Passives:
1) Swift Harvesting is very good for faster Essence recovery and massive stuns as well.
2) Blood is Power is a cheap 20% cdr (helps refresh Bone Arrmor and Simulacrum).
3) Spreading Malediction is good to potential 20% more damage
If you use Cycle, then drop Overwhelming Essence for Blood is Power or Spreading Malediction.
Group Play:
Considering massive amount of single target damage the build has potential for RG killer. RG and Elites pop in seconds under Simulacrum and 10 mages. For Group Play i would recommend using Convention of the Elements and Bane of the Stricken instead of Unity with Esoteric.

Do you think that this wombo combo of singularity skeleton mages with simulacrum and the rune that augment essence and all that multipliers are more powerful than the ones with the bood rune with Trag'Oul's set? Maybe I need to test both builds. BTW I think that I will finally run this one because I love singularity rune, besides all of it's inconsitencies
they will be ALOT more powerfull, because the simulacrum doubles the spawn rate AND damage.
Do you fill your essence bar before creating your next mage or just spam them up as many as possible?
Ring of the obsidian zodiac did not proc for simulacrum? maybe instead of blood is power passive u can keep grisly tribute and ofc for groups with bane of the stricken
can u show us ur items stats? cause im using ur build and i cant survive most of the times .... on a group .... not solo
Hey man, what do you think of the following changes for group play?
- Removing Unity, putting Circle of Nailuj's Evol in it's place and Ring of Royal Grandeur in the cube;
- Changing Rathma's Macabre Vanbraces for Tasker and Theo;
- Putting Golemskin Breeches on the cube;
- Using Command Golem with Bone Golem (for example) instead of Blood Rush;
- Keeping the same Legendary Gems.
As for Breeches = for groups i would use CoE instead of Unity and that's it. For DR it's not bad though!
pet attacks don't proc the ring, but the command skeletons seems to. with the J set to keep it going you can have near 100% uptime on simulacrum. Also bone armor comes back stupidly fast.
BTW pets don't proc zei's stun.

singularity mages still cost 40 to cast then boost its damage per point consumed after that so you end up with an 810% boost at 310 essence instead of 930 the build still wrecks faces anyways.(broken link takes you to the skeleton mage monster unless you add the (skill) part)
the 2 piece from your scythe/shield allow you to cast command skeletons once for 50 essence and then as long as there's enemies on the screen for them to attack they will dash to another enemy once they kill the one they are on or if you move away they'll change targets while still focusing their attack.
Would the endless walk set be a decent substitute for the unity+ haunted visions or would it still be better to roll with a haunted visions amulet with poor stats over an ancient travellers pledge?
Are you sure that Bone armor with scythe of the cycle is better than reilena with blood rush? Like you can avoid a lot of thing with blood rush plus 100% increased armor... plus more mobility. I love bone armor but dunno... also i love my transmog so that's bad too.
PD: Reilena generates much more essence too.
